Lost Video Island

Or, more specifically, their couples, and how it relates to Lost!

I hope there's not a thread on this already... but i've always thought this, and thought i'd voice the opinion now!

Well, I love Buffy, and I'm making a friend watch it with me (although we're starting from season four, cause that's the earliest I have, haha), and it reminds me of Lost. This is why.

Angel is Jack. And Spike is Sawyer! And Buffy is obviously Kate.

It just really reminds me of the Lost couples, cause Angel is the good guy that's, and Spike is the bad boy, yet good at heart (ish), but still has those really rough scary moments where all he cares about is himself...

I just couldn't help but relate it to Lost. Cause it's always on my mind. Haha.

And, I just love Buffy in general. It's such a good show. Cheesy at times, but still so excellent...

Guh. Buffy was my first TV obession. Buffy and Angel will forever be my #1 favourite ship ever.

Yeah I see that resemblance too, I noticed it in the first season of Lost. I'm weird like that, I relate everything to other TV shows

I've always associated the Lost love triangle with the X-Men Logan/Jean/Scott triangle, but here it is again in BtVS. But you're right, it is similar. xD

I see the similarities between the Jack/Kate, Angel/Buffy and the Sawyer/Kate, Spike/Buffy, but there's definitely a lot of differences. For starters, on BTVS, Angel and Spike weren't really competing for Buffy since Angel had moved onto his own series by the time Spike fell for her. The only time they actually did compete for her was in ATS's "Girl in Question" and even that was general humor and silliness. I think in Lost, the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle creates a lot more tension than it did on Buffy.

And yeah, JM is incredibly good looking, even if he is old!

But I loved and will always ship Angel/Buffy. Just 'cause ...

Yes, everyone I meet is always Buffy/Angel... But I came in the middle of season four! So i guess technically I should be Riley/Buffy... they were cute.

I see what you mean by the differences. But I my head I always relate them.

You know, Spike=Sawyer explains why I always shipped Buffy/Angel AND Buffy/Spike!

I loved Buffy with Angel (I came in at the start so that was the first Buffy ship I got on board with

) but then after Angel was gone and it was clear they weren't going to put them together ever on either of their show, *sigh* then I started to enjoy Spuffy, even though they kept it clear that she was never going to love him like she loved Angel. *pets Spike*

I've always been a conflicting-shipper, able to ship two completely opposite ships at the same time, so that's what I figured was going on with the whole Angel or Spike thing. But relating Spike to Sawyer makes it make total sense now!

Ais, ALOT of people feel that way about BA and BS. People started shipping Spuffy cos they knew Bangel werent gonna get back together. But me.. I could never let go of them. They're soulmates, and they're perfect together. They're the epic romance.

Buffy/Angel will always be my all time favourite ship ever. Jate is coming into a close second, but Bangel will always top the list. They're just *sigh* perfect.

& I agree, they did make it Buffy will never love Spike as much as she loved Angel. She loved Spike, but because Angel was her first true love, he will always be that. Because they were torn apart and never had proper closure, she'll aways love him more than anyone in her life. She even said so,

B: I killed Angel. Do you even remember that? I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life, and I put a sword through his heart because I had to.

(I feel that we should make an official thread about this show. Should we?)

Ha I guess i'm opposites, cause I ship Jate... and I love Spuffy. Lol.

Sure make an offical thread about the show! I love it! I'm rewatching all the seasons with a friend so i'm getting all excited about it again!

No need to make another. lol You can talk about the relationships and everything in this thread if ya want.

So...I take it this is an awesome show? I've barely seen any, tho I was contemplating buying the DVD's...btw, do I watch Buffy first, then Angel? I assumed Angel was a spinoff, but just making sure.
