I'm not new to vidding, but i am new to LVi. I can't seem to get an image that is JPEG under 20k (when i upload i have to have an image 'preview'), i have searched on google, but nothing helps, i have tried everything so this is my last resort. |

Hi there, ellibee! Welcome to LVI! What program are you using to do your graphics? I use Paintshop Pro 8 (an old one but it still works great for me, lol! ) but I've occasionally had it have trouble saving a JPEG as way too large a file despite the fact that it's 201x113. Sometimes you just have to keep saving it over and over again as JPEG before it works. (I'm assuming that yours is already 201x113 size... ) I did the same thing, tried researching ways to bring the file size down and tried desaturating it, lowering the color palette and all sorts of things like that. I had one that I finally turned black and white and it was still too large! So I'm not always sure why that happens!
Anyway, if you'd like, you can send me your pic (either post it here or send it to me by PM) and I'll have a try at saving it under the file size limit. |

Isn't that bizarre???
Anyway, since it was under 201x113, I first put it on a plain white background to get it back to that size, and just copy/pasted your image onto it:
That came up 6.34 kb. You know, I was trying to remember what I did the last that happened to me. I believe I finally had to close out my original file after I saved it as JPEG. Then I opened the JPEG file and resaved it as JPEG and I believe that did the trick. It was like the first one was still holding too much information from being a .PSP file, even though I'd saved it as JPEG or something... I really don't know what causes that but it sucks!
Anyway, if you have the larger (201x113) sized version of your pic (or if you'd rather have it in color), I'll be glad to try resaving it for you and see if it makes any difference! |

You know, all I did was save it as a JPEG (after copy/pasting it and all that) and that's how it came out! I see that your original one, which was of a smaller overall size (164x94) came out as 28.6 kb! |

YAY i just figured it out. I resaved in PSP and it came out as 9.1k, so it must be difference between Photoshop and PSP, so i will use PSP to save from now on. |

They must have different settings or something for JPEG, I guess!
Anyway, glad you found out how to fix it! Which picture do you want for your vid? If you want one without that border around it or if you just have a different one you want, send it to me and I'll swap it out for you! Otherwise it'll end up as the one with the border. |
