| Thanks for the warm welcome and sorry but I have another question-How do access like my profile information? I know how to get to like the registration page where I can give my email address, but I'm asking about the location, and hobbies type of page. Sorry, one more, can new users not have an avatar until so many posts? just wondering because I hadn't had one picked out yet so I went to the one's offered by LVI and there were no choices. Thanks for the help! : ) |

To get to your forum profile, just go up to Profile at the top of the forum here and you should see a form to fill out that for Location, Occupation, etc. as well as the field where you can enter the info for a signature banner and avatar.

Unfortunately, our board doesn't offer any avatars, (despite the fact that it's there as an option, I know!  ) so it's "bring your own" for both avatars and sig banners. You'll need an image of about 100x100 pixels (if it's too big, then it stretches the board out and makes it hard to read, so 100x100 is a good size to shoot for ). If you're not into making your own, check the Fan Art section and there's a lot of talented icon makers there who have a bunch to chose from or will often be glad to make you a specific or personalized avatar. (Then you just generally credit them in your sig banner. )
After that, you'll need a hosting place to put it. Photobucket is a good, free place, and so is ImageShack or Tinypic (any of them also work great for places to put sig banners as well, by the way ). So you just upload your avatar to one of them, then put the link they'll give you into the spot in your profile that says "Link to off-site avatar" and click Submit at the bottom of the page.
