Anyone watching this show? It's really, really quite clever and original and just adorable. Following in steps of his prior two shows, Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls, Bryan Fuller creates a very quirky, sweet, and interesting show.

What do you guys think?

If you want more info on it, feel free to read my summary/review below. (By the way, what I wrote below was my attempt at writing a little review and synopsis that I'm thinking of writing as an article for a little school paper. I still have more to add - don't know exactly WHAT - but hopefully it's on the right path...)

--

Bryan Fuller (the creator of Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls) presents his latest genius invention, Pushing Daisies.

Borrowing the vivid colorings of the foreign hit picture, Amelie, as well as the fairytale-ish notion of the Princess Bride, Pushing Daisies begins an inventive enterprise when the lead character, Ned, discovers he can resurrect the dead with a touch, and lay them to peace forever with the next. Should he fail to bring the person back to death within a minute of their resurrection, someone else dies in their place, which is exactly the case when Ned revives his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, with the intentions of ascertaining the identity of her murderer.

With a mystery to solve and two lovers that can't even touch, Pushing Daisies begins a journey that is sure to leave your heart in a state of gooey jello from the gushing cuteness of the old-fashioned-like characters.

Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls?

Two of my favourite shows right there! I'll check it out Is it just sappy though or is there sci fi/fantasy elements?

Edit: Just read the description cool!

Took the words out of my mouth, Di.

Paul, let's put it this way...

It's definitely not as dark as DLM (it's on a regular network, after all, and not cable), but it is really quite similar to Wonderfalls. In fact, the brother in Wonderfalls, is the main character here. There is sappiness involved, but there's also a lot of quirky, makes-you-laugh-since-it's-so-weird-but-clever mystery in there too. I'd definitely recommend you giving it a try.

I'd say that the MAJOR difference between wonderfalls and dead like me compared to pushing daisies is that BOTH shows had a lead character who were extremely, EXTREMELY cynical. It's JUST as quirky as both shows, but much MUCH lighter because the perspective is entirely different.

The Piemaker Ned versus Jaye and George makes a world of difference.

Has anyone else noticed this... Jaye (Jay), Georgia (George), and Charlotte (Chuck). Girls with boy names. CUTE.

Oh my GOD!!!! I knew he looked familiar! Shame on me for not catching that, I loved Wonderfalls!

This is a great show, they better not cancel it!

Sorry, PrincessSparkle, I wouldn't know about the airing in Britain. But if you get the chance to watch it, you definitely should!

Isn't it truly gushy-feeling-inducing, Ashleigh! *squee*

This show aired last night in the UK.
I thought it was good...but it reminded me of a Disney film or something. Mainly because of the narrator I think.
