What can I do to a MPEG video/audio stream file to open it into Windoew movie maker? and how can I play it on Windows Media Player?
I think I need a codec but have no idea what or where to get it at.
Please, if you know anything, hurry with this. I need to know before the 22nd!
Thank you SO SO much!!! _________________ ~~Don't Judge Me~~ |

Hey there, Carpe Noctem! What happens when you try to import MPEG into WMM? Does it crash? Give you an error message? (If it does, write it down 'cause sometimes you can use it to find out a way to solve the problem. )
Also, what does it say when you try to play it in Windows Media Player? What version of WMP do you have? Version 11 supports a few more formats than 10 or 9 did. (Look under Help -- About Windows Media Player to find your version number. ) If you have a version earlier than 11, you might be able to ungrade to 11 and then MPEG will work. Once you can play MPEG in WMP, sometimes that will give you the proper codec so that WMM can open it as well. Not always but sometimes!
Sorry to have more questions than answers but hopefully we can figure something out here by the time you need it. |

Hmmmm... I've been researching that error message and all I can find for an answer is to convert the file into something else like .AVI or .WMV that Movie Maker can handle better.
Will the file import at all if you try it by itself, not into your vid project, in other words? If you can get it into WMM at all, you can try rendering it (saving as a movie) into .AVI or .WMV, then use that to make your vid. I haven't had any luck finding a free converter program, so far, I'm sorry to say. It's awful because WMM is supposed to be able to import .MPG!
Sorry not to be of more help! |
