Here's what Amazon.com has up about it right now:
Sony Vegas 7 + DVD Production Suite
List Price: $499.95
Their Price: $409.99
Vegas 7 is the most current version right now.
There's also:
Sony Vegas Movie Studio + DVD 7 Platinum Edition
List Price: $129.95
Their Price: $89.99
I use Vegas Movie Studio 6.0, the version before this newest one, and I've found it to be a fantastic step up from WMM at a fraction of the full version's price. I've only come across a small number of things that it either can't do or has limitations on doing that the full version can.
You'll see that there are "platinum" versions as well as "regular" versions of Movie Studio. I have the regular one. The editing parts of both of them are exactly the same as far as I know. The "platinum" one adds in some extra sound editing software. If their prices are close enough that you can get either one, I'd suggest going with platinum, just because it never hurts to have some extras!
Here's Sony's main site as well, if you'd like to poke around and read more about all of their products.
Anyway, hope that helps! Good luck with whatever you end up getting! |

also, I feel I should add...because Vegas is a rather pricey program, I would suggest Googling "Sony Vegas 7 Free Trial" and there will be a few links that come up where you can download a free trial for either 15 or 30 days (I can't remember which), so you can give it a whirl before dropping that kind of dough on the whole program. The trial works pretty much the same as the full version (if there were any things they held back, I didn't notice them). _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me
