Contest: Unusual Triangles
New deadline: March 5th

The Details

Ah, February! A month where love is the air and new romances are ready to bloom! And where there's love, there's often... a love triangle!

For last year's contest, we celebrated Unusual Romances. This year, the focus is on Unusual Triangles. But wait, there's a catch! We don't want to see the usual canon (established) triangles. We want to see something exciting and new!

This means that we're asking you NOT to use the following triangles:

Jack/Kate/Sawyer
Boone/Shannon/Sayid
Jack/Ana Lucia/Kate
Kate/Ana Lucia/Sawyer
Jack/Ana Lucia/Sawyer

We also DON'T want to see the following "near canon" (hinted at but not yet done explicitly in the show) such as:

Jin/Sun/Michael
Kate/Jack/Juliet
Charlie/Claire/Desmond
Charlie/Claire/Ethan

So dust off your creative vidding skills and get ready to fire your Cupid's Arrows at 3 people we've never expected to see in a love triangle. We highly encourage you to be innovative! Dream up something brand new and then convince us that it's meant to be!

The Rules
Specific Contest Rules:

* -Videos must show a romantic triangle that has NOT been established in the show (see list of triangles NOT to use).
* -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
* -Running time should be around 3-5 minutes.
* -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "February 2007 contest submission" exactly for your vid's Description.

General Contest Rules:

* -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page
* -All regular submissions Rules apply.
* -Only one entry per vidder
* -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
* -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
* -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
* -Have fun!

Oooooh! This is a good one!

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! I may even have a go at this one myself!

One question though... Can you use a canon ship with someone else. Like Jack and Kate and then use someone other than Sawyer?

can we have multiple unusual triangles?

Me and my friends watch lost like its this demented soap opera between all the men.

I may even attempt a trailer.

Woo-hoo! I've been wanting to make another Jarlie vid for ages now but just never got around to it.

Plus I haven't made a Lost vid in a while either. Now I just have to decide if I should make it about Jack/Kate/Charlie or Jack/Charlie/Claire, and I still need a song as well. I think I'll give it a whirl.
I hope I can get it done though, I'm not good with deadlines.

Please note that the list of triangles not to use has been updated.

The main thing to keep in mind is that we're looking for unusual love triangles (hence the, uh, "unusual triangles" name of the contest

). So if it has been done in the show, avoid it for this particular contest, even if it's not on the list.

And when in doubt, feel free to ask.

I can't wait to see what everybody's going to come up with!
