Yup. They had no real explantion for dressing Kate up (just to allure the male audience, I suppose) and giving her that breakfast. It was a complete filler.

And finally someone who agrees with me on:

I'm a bloke and most definitely not complaining over Lilly in a sexy little dress

Anyone else like the music in this? I thought the music used for when he's following his dad was really good, really creates an atmosphere.

What's all this stab business?

I loved the music! Usually for Jack they either crack out the sad piano or a couple of violins, but this episode had the the deep cello, which I love (i.e. ~ House of the Rising Sun ).

I think the "stab business" is a just a way for them to show that they hate dragged out story arcs and will "stab" someone because of it...I don't know...maybe. I'm aboard that ship though, I wanted to slap Sarah when she mentioned "fixing" again, we got it in the last flashback, no need to remind us. Plus it's totally cliche LOL. I mean doctor, fixing, yeah...move on to a better story arc
~OT~ Though I do like the metaphor that goes with Jack needing to burry his problems, like literally, and thus he can't burry his dad yet, cause his body is missing...yeah. Anywho.

I don't think Kate was dressed like that to attract male viewers. If they wanted to do that, Benry woulda put her in a bikini and make her take a swim. He explained why he wanted her to wear the dress "I want you to feel civilized, I want you to feel like a lady, because the next two weeks are going to be unpleasant" and I firmly believe that. He made her wear the dress for the same reason he gave her a nice breakfast. Something for her to remember and hold on to.

Ah, then I haven't told you the second part of my crazy theory The Others are eunuchs! (if Jack Sparrow can say it, I can )
I mean, it makes sense perfectly in TV Science *grunt* magnets... magnets bad. *caveman grunt*

You know why I don't care about Jate or Skate? Because I don't like Kate .

As for Jack: you know, I never eally liked him much at any point, as he's done a lot of stupid stuff, and he'snever been one of those "wow" characters, but I feel liek he's one of the characters who is constantly on an "up" slope, getting better and better, whereas others are kinda... the opposite, namely Charlie, and ina lesser-sense Locke . Jack is startign to get to the point where I can tolerate him as the leading man, and I'm liking that fact.

OMG!!! I thought I was the only one!!! LoL, though I can handle her a little in either Jate or Skate, but as the series moves on that's coming to a close.

To me all the characters at one point have done stupid stuff, but nothing and no one tops Locke's behavior in the finale of season 2. That combined with his stupid expression when he says "I was wrong"...you think dipsh**!!

yet up until that point everyone and their mother was convinced that the button did nothing. Hardly any viewers thought it did something anymore. Yet all of a sudden when Locke goes through with it and doesn't push the button, he's the stupid one..? 20/20 heinsight...

Besides, that was totally in-character for him to do that, what with him being absolutely devestated after finding out the only thing that made his life meaningful was a sham... or seemingly one. I can forgive any character when they do something for a reason. That's why I have no beef with Sawyer lol . He makes sense! Crude, funny, badboy sense!
Kate doesn't much though . Especially early on when she was all harsh to Sawyer for no reason whatsoever (which they later wrote in a reason for in What Kate Did - but still way past that point where someone's gonna change their opinion because of that)

My Kate avi is now crying. Just so you guys know that...

J/k, of course. I, for one, happen to love Kate despite her flaws, just as anybody loves any of the characters they love despite their flaws. However, I respect everybody's right to not love her, too, or to even downright dislike her. Aislynn is all about the peace, love and understanding, baby!

And Aislynn is apparently all about talking in third person today, too...

Although... *gasp* you all like Sawyer, right????? 'Cause that would break my li'l Southern Bad Boy with Dimples-lovin' heart if you say you hate him!

Point being, y'all are certainly welcome to your own opinions! (Even if it makes my Kate avi cry... ) And I just realized I'm in the No Spoilers section so will move everything else I was going to say over into Spoilers, just to be safe...

*gives gene and Hobbes a cookie, just to show there are no hard feelings* I take no responsibility for the fact that it was a Kate-shaped cookie, however... (Talk about cramming your character down somebody's throat... )

Actually when good ol' Mr.Ecko found out more, he still believed the button needed to be pushed. I guess some people can just keep their faith better than others, even though Locke did have that miracle happen to him.

OK, "stupid" was the wrong word...hypocrite is a better word. I say this only cause he crammed his beliefs down Jack's throat in the beginning, eventually breaking him, and later he acts just like Jack though he takes it twice as far by sealing himself in there so no one can talk reason to him (except Desmond but he was already conflicted). The only thing that really bugs me about Locke was he flip-flopped his beliefs after forcing, I mean forcing, others to partake in it (his "system" of people pushing the button) and then ultimately deciding for himself that it was "all for not" and making the final decision so rashly. I don't care if that was "his character" type, that never bugged me before but when it affect the larger whole then your "character flaw" is one I don't like. That's all I'm saying.

If Locke died, hey, at least he fulfills the Shakespearean requirement of a "tragic hero" *points to my AVI for a good example*. Oh, Locke's "recognizing of his fault" was where he had the "stupid" look, it was needed but I don't have to like it

SAWYER IS DA BOMB!! Tied for my favorite character. My only beef is him with the frog, not cause it was uncalled for, but I thought it was just "cheap heat" that the producers wanted to give him. I know what you mean abut Kate!! I hate how she acts around both Jack and Sawyer, it seems unjustified at times. Also, that was nice background info, thanks for sharing.

Aislynn Oooo, cookie...*eats cookie* Wow!! I just realized how great Kate is! I'm totally having a religious experience right now!! Haha...not, sorry. I can see past her flaws or anyone else for that fact, but I still don't like her

"Oh look I'm Kate, I'm a hardened criminal and 2 desireable men are after my heart but I feel I need to run away all the time *insert flashback of her running away (both literally...and figuratively, OOHHH! SNAP!)*"

LoL, just need to add this. As for your Kate avi. crying, all I have to say is "Cry Me a River" Haha, oh I'm immature
