Okay well just used DVD Shrink for the very first time! Woopti-friggin-doo. the clip I ripped plays in WMP but you can only hear the sound, you can't see the actual video.
Grr. Anyone know how to sort this out? It has to of happened to someone else!
Hopefully MoreLight will drop by and help.. *prays*
EDIT: Never mind! If anyone else has this problem, then just change the file to whateveryouwannacallit.wmv - mpg only lets sound in (well in my case anyways) _________________

okay few questions!
I downloaded all the programs I was told to.
As with AP I couldn't rip my lost season 2 so i downloaded the decryptor or whatever.
That all worked fine but dvd shirnk said there was something wrong with the files when i tried to open it.
So i went to re-author and found the file that way but it has no file bigger than 8mb (and it's supposed to be the WHOLE disc) and nothing longer than 6 seconds where are the episodes????
Also there is no sound on my clips from other dvds
Thanks for this though, it worked really well for the most part! _________________

I haven't attempted the Lost s2 dvds yet...I ripped all of Season One for Dead Like Me as well as disc one of Lost s1 and the movie Mean Creek with NO problem...but then when I tried to do Dead Like Me Season Two, I got the same errors that I listed here. What gives? _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

Ugh, I dl'ed the clip I want, but no matter what format I put it into it won't let me import it into WMM.
Sometimes it says something about needing a codec. Can I download this anywhere? _________________ "What, you smell blood on the wind?"

im having what seems to be the common codec problem. i downloaded DVDshrink and am using it on my Charmed DVD. everything worked fine until I had to go to the VIDEO_TS. i changed the files in there to .mpeg and they turn into windows media player symbols, but they wont play. and eventually i get that 'you need a codec' message.
my laptop came with Acer Arcade to play DVD's, if thats of any use.
i just found where i can download DivX.com...should i do that? will it come with the right codec?
HELP PLEASE!! _________________

Hey guys,
I know alot of people seem to be having a codec problem, as did I. An easy way to get around this is to simply download a different DVD Ripper.
If you go to www.mininova.com and search "DVD Ripper" a ton of things come up. Becareful to download just a dvd ripper however, as many of them are encoded with movies (or something). _________________ "What, you smell blood on the wind?"

That's awesome Kat! Would you mind posting a link to the site? I would love a DVD ripper that works! (It is free, right?) |

just rename the file before you start the ripping so it doesnt make its own file. although if it does; its no big deal enjoy! _________________
