Dreamville is not a fun place.
Last night I dreamt that my mother and I were traveling by car a very long distance to go to some University. We arrive and I end up "spying" on the school's dance team dormatories with some chick (no idea where mom is at this point.) There is a dance competition and apparently I'm in it. It's a Catholic school so all of the windows in every dorm room are stained glass and it is very dark in there. I start freaking out saying stuff about "no wonder college kids are so depressed and drink themselves to death! It's so dark in here! I can't handle it!" At which point we leave.
We go down, down, down a winding primitive staircase that's located in this huge auditorium. Hundreds and hundreds of feet high. We get down to the bottom where the entire floor is padded. The audience is sitting down on the mats and we find my mom there. They are all looking up at this scaffolding in the center of the auditorium that goes straight to the afformentioned very high ceiling. It is at that point that I announce that I am definitely not participating in this crazy dance competition.
We wait for it to start and when it goes all of these television stars come running out of this archway in the center of the room like football players. Apparently they're the ones doing the dancing. You can imagine my relief at not being expected to participate. They all start climbing this scaffolding. It is very very very high, as I said before. They grab onto ropes and start swinging all over the place, doing synchronized motions and such. It's insanity. They even drop from the ropes in mid air and land on the mats on their knees at one point and continue the routine on the mats. I root for Summer Glau and she's doing a great job. I say to mom, "No way would I have known all the moves!"
Then, I have to go to the bathroom. While they're starting a new song and they climb up the scaffolding again, I take the opportunity to hit the head. While I'm in there, the lights go out. Pitch black. "PERFECT!" I exclaim. The toilet won't flush, which is weird. I go back out into the auditorium and all of the lights are on, but there's no music. As I walk in, I notice that everyone is frozen. The tv stars/dancers, the audience members. Everyone and every thing. There are people snapping photographs and the flashes are still going off, frozen. Yep, this was a VERY vivid dream.
I am freaking out, obviously. I look around for any movement. There is a young girl sitting on the mat and her eyes are turned to her right while her face is turned to her left as if she was in the middle of looking over at something just before the time freeze. I notice something. It's tiny, but it's there. Her eyes are twitching. Like a record player repeating the same nanosecond of sound over and over. This gives me an idea. I walk over to the girl and smack her on the side of the head saying "Snap out of it!" She slowly becomes animated again along with everyone in the room. Everyone is confused and disoriented. Many of the TVStar/dancers fall from above. People start to scream. It's terrifying!
Matthew Fox gets killed in the fall. Something about a prop sword. It was very sad. A few other stars died too. (But not Summer Glau!) You can just imagine the scene. Chaos! I start to tear up and ask my mom to take me home. I feel responsible. I'm the one who "knocked the glitch loose" and made everything come alive again. This is clearly ALL MY FAULT!
When we get home, I go online and I'm just about to transcribe this crazy night to everyone, but before I do, I check to see if there's anything on Yahoo! news about it. There isn't. I find this strange. At that point, I realize there's nothing there because it's just a dream and I wake up.
Once again, my dreams frighten me. |

Odd and creepy.
Yeah, I too have a tendency to get very intensely detailed, very weird dreams. |

I didn't hear anything, E.
Hobbes, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has creepifying dreams. |

Wow, that was like a short story more than a dream! All too often, I have weird, exceptionally vivid, movie-like dreams. I think I might have a production crew instead of a dreaming subconscious, I'm not sure...
I liked that dream. It'd be a cool Outer Limits/Twilight Zone-ish ep somewhere! |
