...finally got my new laptop, yay, and installed sony vegas, keygen and all and its working fine, but my issue seems to be with .avi files. they wont load into vegas and wont play in WMM even tho they did on my old latptop. anyone know why this is happening and how can i can fix it? its proving very frustrating as I want to make an Ana vid and all my ana clips are from her site which are .avi :S

Hi,
I had the same problem when I first tried sony vegas.
The link I am putting below shows you step by step how to do it with screenshots of the converter program and contains the download link for the converter as well.
I tried this program and every episode now works perfectly in Sony Vegas. Only took about 10 seconds per an episode to convert - can't ask for more :0)

This is not my tutorial - it is just one I came across it a while back when trying to solve the avi problem.
Hope it works for you all just as well as it did for me :0)
I had to have DivX installed on my PC though before converting.

I just noticed the screenimages on the link I sent you were not showing up. I knew there was another similar tutorial about on here at LVI somewhere so I found it for you.
It is part of a tutorial by Pauly (polarbear)
Shows how to use the same program. Go to this link:

THanks so much for all your help. i had to instal divx as well but it didnt take long and all of my clips are working and importing fine now, yay!! thanks sooooo much
