I made a mix CD of songs from the Dogtown and the Z-Boys documentary and a lot of them are on the soundtrack to it, but I got them (all but one) from iTunes.
It's got...
Funk #49 - James Gang
Generation Landslide - Alice Cooper
Bad Reputation - Thin Lizzy
La Grange - ZZ Top
Ezy Ryder - Jimi Hendrix
Gut Feeling - Devo
Children of the Revolution - T. Rex
Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent
Gimme Danger - Iggy Pop & The Stooges
Foxey Lady - Jimi Hendrix
Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh
Old Man - Neil Young
..in that order.
I had never known a Neil Young song before and I simply LOVE "Old Man." It's a great, great song. I learned later that Neil sings Heart of Gold and Rockin' in the Free World. Didn't know that was him before, but I know that now haha. My other favorites on this CD are probably Funk 49, Generation Landslide, Cat Scratch Fever, and Ezy Ryder. Geez, that's practically all of them.
Oh I almost forgot, I threw in Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day at the end because it was on the trailer for the film, Lords of Dogtown, and was missing from that soundtrack, which I also bought.
I've never liked this kind of music before, but then again I'm easily brainwashed. |
