Yesterday I made a video; I'm POSITIVE that I saved it. But when I went to open it today; it went to a blank video; usually when I open a video after making it; it's still there.
And even if I didn't save it; it always recovers itself; but I cannot find this video ANYWHERE> It's not in the file; and the problem is I'm not a 100% on the name I gave it because it was a spur of the moment type of vid.
I am using windows 7 and I don't know how to really 'search' using it.
Can anyone give me some advice? |

One more thing; I went into my clps; and one of the songs I used has the 'white' file (What I call it ) PROOF that I made this vid. |

I lost a vid once. I unfortunately never found it again. I hope you will be able to recover your vid.
On your white file, if you right click it, does it give you the option to 'Open file location'? I've never tried that, but maybe it'd work?
When you open the video in Sony Vegas, do you get any kind of messages telling you the media is off-line? If you get the pop-up asking you if you want to search for or ignore missing files, searching for it can be successful. I have been able to recover lost files, etc in that way.
Also if you open it in Sony Vegas, under File, and located just below Exit, does it show your video's name there? Mine shows the last 6 vids I've worked on, two of which I've deleted all the components of, but it still shows up.
I have Windows 7,too. I don't know for sure how to search it, but I did notice in Libraries, there is a search option in the top right corner. Not sure if that would help you any. There is a place under Libraries (or Documents) where on the left side of the screen, (under Desktop and Download) it says 'Recent Places'.
You might try clicking on that and seeing if it would display your missing vid.Since it was just yesterday you worked on it, it might still show up there.
Also have you checked through all the files associated with the vid you're making? I've found my vids filed in some of the strangest places, just due to a slip of the mouse.
I hope you're able to find your vid. That's so frustrating when they disappear.

I found it. I never thought I would. I thought I lost it or that I never saved it nad it was Vegas in a motherly voice going "You should have saved your video".
I saved it on my external harddrive instead of my actual computer which was why I couldn't find it. I remembered I called it 'Loud' And checked my external harddrive and found it.
Thank you. |
