does anyone know where/how to get fancy text effects with different backgrounds and stuff for Vegas? I'm bored of the plain ones they provide you with

What I do is insert text rather than use the ones they provide you with

Right click on an empty video track and click Insert Text Media, should be second from the bottom (if you're running with Vegas 7). Then the text box goes on. From there you can change the background, font, add some video effects to it like Light Rays, etc. Just make sure if you want to use a background that's a still image; that the text box goes on top of it
