Back with another dumb question.
I'm trying to use audio from downloaded episodes.
When I import some of them and put them on the timeline they show up with only video and no audio. Could it have to do with settings? I just don't get why its only happening with some episodes and wouldn't you know it, its the ones i want to use. |

That's not a dumb question at all! I would imagine that your episodes in question are in .AVI format and Vegas is unfortunately quite notorious for not being able to import the audio from .AVI episodes. The only thing that I've found that works reliably is to import the episode/clip into Windows Movie Maker (which, oddly enough, usually doesn' t have a problem with the audio or video on .AVI ) and then find the scene I want, render it into .WMV, then import that into Vegas and use the audio from that.
It can be kinda tedious if you have a lot of audio that you want to use but if you just need a bit here or there, I find that it works a lot faster than anything else. |

I just had one little *yay* moment with .avi files and vegas so I wanted to share: I dont know if this was an isolated incident of yay or what. But I DLed the movie Twilight (as an .avi file) and I didnt want to wait the time for it to render and whatnot in WMM...so I just loaded it into my trimmer in vegas and waited. And by waited I didnt so much as mouse click until it was done. And sure enough when I checked it, it was fine. But again it might just have been a *yay* fluke. But maybe worth another try...because I know that usually I immediately try to move the file...and thats when the audio leaves me. *shrug* _________________

Thanks, I'll try the trimmer trick and if that doesn't work I'll use WMM. |
