Ever since a few days ago I uninstalled a program called ffmpeg, solely to make more free space and then all hell breaks loose. My volume knob glitches, no sounds come from the main computer sounds, internet or Youtube (the only things that work are Windows Media Player and Quicktime, same with putfile and embedded Quicktime videos on the internet), but worst of all no editing software, Vegas or WMM, will playback anything. I can't even render anymore.
Has anyone here ever installed ffmpeg? Does anyone know how to install it? There are a couple things you need to install before you attempt to install ffmpeg, I know that, but what, where and how? _________________

I Googled it and found this:
Quote: | FFmpeg is an audio/video conversion tool. It includes libavcodec, the leading open source codec library. An experimental streaming server for live broadcasts is also included. |
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpeg/
^You can download it there.
EDIT. That doesn't work. Sorry!
I'm going to keep looking though, cause I want something like this for my computer. If I find anything I'll let you know. _________________

man, that's harsh
Perhaps ffmpeg is the MPEG codec? and if so, then perhaps it can be replaced with a re-installation fo winamp or Divx or something?
Other than that, I don't know |

What operating system are you running? ffmpeg is a codec library for digital streaming video that is embedded in Windows. Are you running Windows (which version) or Linux?
Either way, this is a problem...a problem that can be fixed, but still a problem. I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of your PC. I can't even begin to explain what you would need to do. You're gonna need a tech geek for this one. |
