Ruth, that's freaking awesome!
Fantastic beat use, good clip choice, the rewind effect looks great. Love the quiet part in the middle, too, especially the bit with "Sun in the rain" (works very well with the music) and the clips from the Season 3 promo.
Awesome, awesome work, hon! You should definitely take part in the September contest! _________________

Wow, the beat use in this was amazing, RS! I loved the part at the start showing the island, your use of S3 promos and especially the rewind bit followed by all the dark action stuff...that was so cool! Great job. _________________

Thanks everyone for the kind words- I really didnt have an objective starting out on this one, and then it was kind of influenced by the BSG title sequences- the action stuff. As for the middle thing- it was really hard figuring out what to put in there, its not exactly "succinct"- if that makes any sense. Also, the music is a LITTLE spliced- I actually went ahead and captured the music from episode 1.6 myself- the point when they are walking into the caves (music which to my dismay was NOT on the soundtrack) and inserted it into the middle. But thanks everybody! _________________

Really, really, cool editing. Loved the quick beats during the action parts and the rewind effect. I also liked how you squeezed in the promo for Season 3 in there. Well-done!
Great vid, Ruth! _________________

I have nothing else to add, except that my favorite part was definitely in the middle where the slow Lost music started appearing. That song is genius. I also wish it was on the soundtrack. And the clips you put with it, especially with Sun holding her head up in the rain just like Locke... beautiful.

If youre anything like me (and you probably are, being on this web site and all you freaks!) youre a bit disappointed...the LOST score came out but they included 15 tracks that pretty much sound exactly the same, but left out one GORGEOUS and noteworthy cue- I cal it "the Jungle Walk"...the beginning of it can be heard when Jack, Kate and Charlie are heading to the cockpit through the tall grass. But the full extent can be heard again when those 3 + Locke are going to get water for the first time, and the first time we see the caves in the daytime. Its a phenomenal cue..so I took the liberty of creating my own MP3 of it. I have done my best (got out all dialogue and loud noises!) Perhaps someone with a better audio editing program can do something with it, but I think its pretty good. So I present to you:
"The Awe of the Caves"

I love you my thoughts exactly!
I was also quite fond of the yellow extracts you placed on the characters halfway through interesting indeed! |
