| GIF image not working properly |

I found a GIF image that I was hoping to loop and incorporate into my video. But when I click on it, it shows up as a still image and has broken the GIF into 7 frames. Lately every GIF I have operates like this.
I tried opening the GIF in other places (like Movie Maker or Vegas) but it still shows up only as the first frame.
Anyone know how to fix this?
