Okay, I have just about had it this season with new actors being added to established shows then being based by those fandoms. Here's just a small list of the ones that I know of so far this season:
Rachel Nichols (Rachel Gibson on Alias), people apparently don't understand that Jennifer Garner is pregnant and for Alias to have a action packed 5th season they needed to give Syd a spy in training to pick up the slack. She is playing a part and people can think she is a wimp or not fit for the job but those people apparently missed the episodes where it was explained that she is NOT field trained and this is all very new to her. But I'd say she is doing a damn good job for the short amount of time she's had to train. And Rachel Nichols is doing a great job acting teh part.
Balthazar Getty (Thomas Grace on Alias), poor guy doesn't even have a chance because there are to many crazy Alias fans that are angry over Vartan's departure. Balthazar is a good actor and just like Rachel he is playing a part that is being written by someone else. Why punish him for simply doing a job that benefits us by giving us an hour of escapism from reality? Plus I think he's a good looking guy and it's not like he's trying to take Vartan's place. He is NOTHING like Vaughn and not meant to be.
Michelle Rodriguez (Ana-Lucia on Lost), well you guys should have expected me to include her. People have just not given the character a chance. I was reading an article where Damon mentioned that they wanted people to start off hating her so they could pull back the layers on her. I just hope people give her a chance because what I've seen lately throughout the Lost community doesn't look good for most people to give her a shot. Which is a shame because I think the character has incredible potential. Now most people are just going to see her as the one that killed Shannon and broke up Shayid. Sad day when people can't understand the importance of moving along a story by having to do stuff like that. It's a part of a storytellers job.
Kaley Cuoco (Billie on Charmed), this is one of the saddest of all the ones I've seen so far this season. Absolutely no one is giving this poor girl a chance and she's doing such a good job. I think Charmed fans don't realize that it is very possible the only reason Charmed came back this season was because they introudced her character. So before people bash her they should give her a chance then thank her for playing the part that very possible allowed a Season 8. What's even worse is they are talking about maybe doing a Charmed spin-off for her character and people are now petitioning for it to be about Chris and Wyatt. It's ridiculous that people are so close minded that they can't see the bigger picture here.
Okay, that's just the ones I know of this season but I'm sure there are lots of others. So if you know of one please post it here. These actors and characters deserve some kind of support.
I'm just frustrated at how negative the fan community on the web has become. Across the board they just can't accept change. Maybe it's the writter in me that allows me to accept what they are doing with shows but I wish peopel would give new actors and characters a chance before trashing them. Even worse before they try and prevent them from moving on with spin-offs or extended stays on shows.
Everyone is entitled to there own opinions so I'm not trying to persuade anyone to like these characters and actors. But I do want peopel to realize that things happen with long running shows that cause producers to have to adapt and change storylines which often involve introducing new actors. And actors have to audition for parts so the people that run the shows you all love have to approve these people before they allow them to play these characters. So if you are a true fan of a show put a little faith in the people that brought you that show.
I'll admit shows have done things that I don't like but if you keep watching and don't give up they usually redeem themselves once all the pieces come together. You just have to have patience and wait. Storytelling is an art and you have to be careful not to reveal to much to soon or too little. It's a fine line but if a show pulls it off it can be brilliant once the story play outs. So what I would ask of all of you that have made it this far through this rant is to give these characters and actors a chance and if you truly believe in a new character or actor that is being bashed don't be afraid to stand behind them.
One day I hope to be writing or producing a TV series and I would hope that the fans would stand behind me on my decisions. Especially when I know where the story is going and how great it will be.
Okay that concludes my rant for the day...lol. All comments are welcome but please keep bashing of all sorts to a bare minimum if you must use it at all. I've just about had my fill of bashing on message boards for one afternoon (guess that's what I get for spending my first free afternoon in weeks surfing the net  ). Off to watch some Lost videos and remind myself why I love this fandom so much more then others lately. At least we tend to be a bit more understanding (not much towards some but more then most fandoms).
Anwyay, I'm really don't ranting now...lol.

Well it's a bit late in the day for this but better late then never.
As of today, November 16th LVI is officially a year old. I wish I had time for a long speach but since I don't I'll just cut to the chase and thank all of you that have gotten us this far. We'll do our best to keep giving you reasons to come back for the next year.
Council members (current and past), thank you for everything you've put into LVI. The site is a better place because of each of you.
Enchirito, you're a wembaster god and no one will ever be able to convince me otherwise.
Visitors and vidders, what can I say you guys ROCK!!!
Thank you for a great year and here is to the next year!

Well, this season I decided to go as spoiler-free as possible and stopped watching the ABC promos.
Now, I've found it more refreshing and exciting not knowing anything about the tpisdoe besides its title and who it's about.
Well, my mom and sister, are weird. I taped the episdoe last wek for my dad and stopped the DVR before the promo and they were pissed (I "Ruined the night") and they never saw another promo for the episode. So, tonight they were spoiler free except for the title. And,you know what they think? The episdoe isn't as fun if you don't know wht's coming.
I don't know what I'm trying to say is, do you watch the promos or would you rather it be a surprise?

I figured this was the right place to ask. I took on the Kate banner when people were really dissing on her and her toy plane. So I think with all the flack A-L is taking right now that it's time to upgrade to a new banner. Can someone make me a new banner with Kate and the plane (similar to the on I have now) and include A-L in it. Just make sure it says "LVI" on it somewhere (again something like what I have now).
What can I say I like to show support for the characters that I think aren't getting the respect they deserve. I'd be grateful to whomever could hook me up with a new banner. Thanks.
