Hey everyone! ... Just signed up to LostVideo, I've made a couple of vids before with different source material, and stumbled across this site in a random google search for Lost-related stuff, so naturally, I stayed!
... I've got myself a copy of Sony Vegas, as WMM is kind of annoying in its lack of flexibility after a while, and looking at the competition winners from previous months, I don't think I could cut it with what I know at the moment! ... So... I thought, rather than un-learn all my WMM experience and do it "correctly", I'll keep my bad ways and start learning from scratch on a new program (couldn't have picked it without you guys!)
I also got myself a big ol' HD Dell monitor today as well, so I'm all set to make magic happen! (Or at least some mediocre ship vids ) It might take a while, I work awful hours!
This isn't a help request, and it isn't an advertisement. I just hoped that some lovely people would say hey and wish me luck on my venture!
Hey, I'm Ant, nice to meet you.
And you are?
EDIT: Yep, I know, this post screams "move me to an appropriate place"... I just realised where I posted it. >_<

Blood
A/N: written for prompt, "blood" for my claim at LJ community: 50_darkfics
God, it’s everywhere. It’s everywhere. I can still see his face, but it isn’t the face I know. It isn’t the face I think I loved. There’s so much...oh God, I can’t even say it. I can’t stop staring even though I feel like I might throw up. Jesus, couldn’t Jack have...I don’t know...cleaned him up a little better? I mean, I’m his sister, for all intents and purposes–-doesn’t Jack have the common sense to think that perhaps I wouldn’t want to remember him this way? All f***ed up? ...broken...?
And John...Locke, I mean. It was really nice of him to bring me Boone’s bag, but what kind of person does so dressed in a shirt covered in the departed loved one’s blood? There, I said it. Locke was soaked in Boone’s...blood. I wanted to cry, vomit, and f***ing hit him all at the same time, but I didn’t have the energy to do any of those things.
I never want to see it again. It means defeat. It means pain. It means death. If I never, ever have to see a drop of...blood...for the rest of my life...I will die a happy woman.

Picture of Innocence
A/N: written for the prompt "innocence" for my claim at LJ community 50_darkfics
He’s a picture of innocence. Looking at him right now, my heart is breaking, but in a good way, if that makes any sense. This little boy who doesn’t even know me is offering me his dog; his companion, and he’s being so selfless that it’s making me tear up a little.
“He’s a good listener,†Walt tells me and I believe him. I nod and I smile and I feel like I’m going to burst into tears for the millionth time in the past day or two, but I fight it and soon, he goes away.
I worry that he’s going to be hurt, or that something will happen to the raft while Walt is on it, and looking down at the leash in my hand and the yellow lab sitting, panting by my side, I suddenly know why I feel so uncharacteristically...caring. Because Walt did something for me that no one else did after Boone died. Walt cared.

Tugged Heartstrings
A/N: written for a picture prompt of a group of children trick-or-treating for my claim at LJ community: deviant_muses ...I'm about a day late posting this
“Trick or treat!â€
The blonde woman who opened the door to the two small children, a boy and a girl, dressed up in Halloween costumes, smiled. She held up a jack-o-lantern shaped bucket filled with candy, taking a large Snickers bar out for each of them and dropping them into the children’s respective pillow cases.
“Thank you,†they practically sang together and hurried off her porch.
“That was the last one, Shan,†ten-year-old Boone said, holding up a nearly full pillow case of candy, beaming with pride. He pulled the eye patch off his eye and put it up on his head like one would do with sunglasses. As he reached up to itch his neck, he smeared the painted on beard that was, “like, the best part†of his pirate’s costume.
“Thanks for taking me, Boone,†Shannon replied with a grateful smile. She took off her tiara and dropped it into her also nearly full pillow case. Smoothing her shiny, pink Princess dress as she walked with her new brother, she felt happier than she had in a long time.
When Boone and Sabrina had first come into Shannon’s life, Shannon hadn’t been happy at all. But, six months later, she was feeling much better about the way her dad spent more time with Sabrina than he did with Shannon herself, because, Shannon had someone else to play with now.
Boone looked over at Shannon and smiled. It wasn’t so bad having a little sister, he supposed. When his mom was ignoring him even more than usual, at least Shannon still came into his room from time to time asking him if he wanted to play. Sure, she wanted to play Barbies and Boone would much rather dismember them or put them in comically compromising positions, but when Shannon asked, Boone would play nicely with them. “You’re welcome, Shan,†he said to her as they reached their own home where, predictably, Sabrina and Adam were not.
“Hey Boone?†Shannon asked as Boone took out his house key and let them both into the dark house.
“Yeah?†he asked, locking the door behind them when they were safely inside.
Shannon shifted her weight from one foot to another and flipped on the hall light. “It’s kind of scary with Sabrina and Dad not here...isn’t it?†She looked over at him uneasily, hoping that he’d feel the same way so that he wouldn’t think she was being a baby.
“A little,†Boone replied calmly. She was acting like a baby, he thought, but of course, she was only eight. He, being a ten-year-old, was clearly too old to think it was scary to be home alone with his little sister. It was his job to make her feel better.
“Yeah, I guess it’s just a little scary,†Shannon replied, trying to cover herself. “I’m really tired...†she muttered, stifling a yawn.
“Then go to bed,†Boone replied, taking the eye patch and bandana off his head, and beginning to remove the clip on hoop earring from his left ear. He looked over at her as if to emphasize the point. It might be his job to make her feel better, but he wasn’t tired and had no intention of letting her stay awake and watch TV with him if she was just going to be a crab.
“Boone,†Shannon moaned, “I can’t. It’s scary up there.†She cast a worried look toward the tall staircase.
“You never been scared before, Shannon,†Boone muttered.
“It’s never been Halloween before,†Shannon shot back. She looked at Boone pleadingly.
Boone forced a smile that slowly morphed into a more genuine one when she returned it. “Okay, Shan, what if I tuck you in?â€
“Can you lay with me until Daddy and Sabrina come home?†Shannon bartered.
Boone paused for a minute to think. Seeing the hopeful look on Shannon’s face, he made his decision. “All right. Come on, then.â€
Shannon grinned ear to ear and looked at Boone lovingly. He might not be her real brother, but he sure was the best big brother she ever met and at that moment, as Boone led her up the stairs, her fear of the dark house melted away. Shannon felt, for the first time, at that very moment, something she had never felt toward someone other than her Daddy. It was a weird tug feeling in her heart. If she’d been older, she’d know that the actual term for the feeling was that when he’d agreed to stay with her, she felt a tug on her heartstrings.
Boone tucked Shannon in and laid back on top of the covers of Shannon’s bed after turning out the lamp on her bedside table and Shannon stared at him in the darkness.
“Boone?†she asked softly, yawning again.
“Hmm?â€
“Good night,†she mumbled.
“Night, Shan,†Boone replied, smiling a little.
A long, silent pause fell between them. As she felt herself drift away, Shannon decided she should let him know.
“I love you,†she whispered, before drifting off to sleep.

There's a Difference
A/N: written for word promt: "shatter" for my claim at LJ community: deviant_muses
Shannon stared down at the lifeless form of her brother. It was the weirdest feeling she’d ever felt. Like a dream. Like they were kids again and Boone was just playing Romeo for her when she was running lines before rehearsal. Like he wasn’t really dead; just pretending for her own benefit, but deep down she knew that that wasn’t it. When she looked at him, he looked different to her. He looked...defeated.
The blood all over him, coagulated, most frighteningly so, on his face, under normal circumstances would have Shannon’s stomach turning so uncomfortably that she’d have to choose between looking away and vomiting. This time, she didn’t feel that way. Looking down at Boone’s broken form didn’t make her sick; it made her sad. It made her feel empty and lonesome. It was a feeling she knew all too well.
Anger, too, was a feeling she knew all too well, and she felt that right now, too. Shannon wanted–-longed–-to blame someone. Anyone. Boone for failing. Jack for failing. She wanted to blame them both, because if Boone had held on, he’d still be here. If Boone had wanted it enough, he’d have lived. Jack was supposed to be their leader. He was supposed to know everything, so why hadn’t he known enough to save Boone’s life?
Mostly, though, Shannon wanted to, and did, blame John Locke, because if he hadn’t taken Boone under his wing, Boone wouldn’t have been out in the jungle that day. He’d have been out on the beach with Shannon, maybe reading a book of Sawyer’s; maybe taking a swim...hell, maybe he’d even be calling her useless, since that’s what he was best at. Right then, in that very moment, Shannon would’ve given anything to hear him call her worthless. Right then, she’d would have definitely given anything to hear his voice, even if it was to mock and belittle her.
There was something else that Shannon was feeling, like a dull throb in her chest. It was something she was both familiar and unfamiliar with at the same time, which scared and confused her, but, there it was. The pain of a broken heart was something Shannon knew very well, but this somewhat new, jagged flare was a little bit different. Yes, a broken heart Shannon knew and had had, but a shattered heart... Now she knew the difference.
