Big tent folds as HBO cancels 'Carnivale'

HBO has pulled up stakes on "Carnivale," opting not to order a third season of the circus-set Dust Bowl drama.

Prospects for a "Carnivale" renewal have appeared bleak since the sophomore season wrapped in March; the show didn't increase its viewership, and series creator/executive producer Daniel Knauf already signed on to produce a series for the rival Showtime cable channel.

"We have decided not to renew 'Carnivale,"' said Carolyn Strauss, president of entertainment at HBO, in a statement. "We feel the two seasons we had on the air told the story very well and we are proud of what everyone associated with the show has accomplished."

What a bunch of horseshit! If you think that one-third of a story was enough to tell the whole thing, then you need to go back to school and learn how to write a frickin story. Hell, do you want me to draw out the plot-map we learned in 3rd grade? You know, Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Resolution? We were in the middle of Rising Action! Hello!!! If you truly were proud, you'd renew the frickin show and let them finish out their story, seeing that it's nowhere near being finished!

Okay, that's my rant for this morning...

NOR is Bringing the evil priest back to life a great thing either

LOST has a better reaon of wrapping up the story than Carnivale ever did. Carnivale: fate has RULED that the two must battle, and one must die once and for all. Lost: a bunch of people land on an island, and get along with life.... yeah... I find it very nice that the battle of good and evil can be cancelled

I mean, the first round is the only one that really counts in a bout, right?

I can name a lot more shows than that:

- Seven Days
- Millennium (with Terry!)
- The Lone Gunmen
- Level 9
- Wolf Lake
- Wonderfalls

The list goes on...

But yeah, I'm cancelling HBO. The ONLY reason I got it was for Carnivale. While I'm interested in "Rome", I can watch it on DVD. No Carnivale, no HBO.
