find this theme...I recently start experement in Avid Xpress, and "Edius" programms..they are quite similar...and confusing too LoL

If some one here using them (but I have't seen any vids with them, so I'm not sure), just few questions..in latest Avid Xpress version, the thing which confuse me is importing file thing..is it can be only in .MOV format???...and another thing, even if I have the whole movie in this format, importing process could take like the whole day ..I know this slow import thing was't in earlies Avid versions, because they were having "fast import thing" button, but in newest - No..I can't beleive if it's really must took that long for files importing, so it's totally must be another way, but I can't figured out what, and can't find info anywhere either ...

btw, if someone recently starts use Avid, video lessons on their oficial site are very useful, after them, this programm don't look so confusing..plus with it comparible "After Effects" (with Vegas it don't work ), Boris plugins and etc...

oh, and if someone starts with Edius...well, it does't work with Xvid, Divx formats, it's could be done only through Boris FX plugin, but that's quite confusing too...at least it works with Mpeg-2, and import process is quick

if some one know about Avid Xpress Pro import thing problem, I would be very thankful

ETA: if some one interest, here is Avid interface, it's quite cool
