You guys better still think that Kate's flashbacks are the worst, since you're mentioning a bunch of other people's flashbacks now... _________________

marcus, marcus... they're ALL bad. You just have to learn that.
Well, we'll see what this contest says lol. I have a feeling there might be some cool entries that actually make the flashbacks look good... we'll see. |

Your favourite episode, Walkabout, is so brilliant because of the friggin' flashbacks! I can cope with most of them, the worst is the ones in "?"...Eko tries to decide whether it's a miracle or not, decides no, then is told before he gets on the plane that he will see his dead brother soon...so therefore he believes he is brought here for a purpose. And Locke doesn't think that anymore, even though he has a perfectly good reason to. _________________

Oh yeah... Walkabout...
Okay, new rule:
Flashbacks are good once, for each character, if that, then they're boring. |

Damn right!! Same goes for "Deus ex machina"!
I can cope with most flashbacks, too, but some are simply pointless. Like "Adrift" where they tell you for the hundredth time that Michael suffers because Walt has been taken away from him _________________

No, that ep was good despite it. Or at least the flashback was equal to the on-island stuff.
My new rule stands (though this was one of my favourites of the flashies) |

I disagree. See above, "Deus ex machina" was a great episode, IMO. _________________

"Adrift" was just a closer look at what they skipped through in "Special"...notice how in season two most flashbacks were done over a much shorter space of time? In season one, they'd quickly go through years, like in "House Of The Rising Sun", showing them happily together, then slowly drift apart...then they zoomed in on the time she wanted to have a baby in "The Whole Truth". I think they weren't sure how popular the show would be, and when it was that popular, they were like "Crap...what do we do with the flashbacks now that we've shown so many things?"
I hope my vid makes sense of atleast some of Kate's flashbacks. _________________

good thought on the flashbacks hmmm...
I think I'd rather they kept them small in S1, so they could take a small section of their lives at a time and still leave some mystery. Although I could be eating my words once it gets time for "hardcore spinal surgeon" flashbacks |

I LOVE THE FLASHBACKS I THINK THEY COMPLEMENT THE ISLAND SCENE VERY NICELY AND HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTERS BETTER. _________________
