Lost Video Island

I had an idea yesterday for a possible contest. Don't know if it's really gonna be any good or not but here goes:

Make a vid for the island like one of those videos you get when you're considering vacationing somewhere, you know, a video that gives you information on the place you're going to visit and things to do there and stuff.

"Lost island! Scenic vistas! Picturesque waterfalls! Celebrating 3 days being polar bear attack free!

What do you guys think?

I for one thinks that is a very good idea.
The council is picking next moths contest right now and I'll make sure we concider that one.

What about a crossover video?

A video with scenes from another movie/tv show that make it look like they're interacting with the Lost characters? Could be a music video or even something like Enchirito's out of context with the characters talking to each other and stuff. That would be interesting to watch (and for the entrants to put together, I'm sure.)

heheheh, everyone would just choose Gilligan's island

I forgot all about that idea last month of the contest of making a video without footage from the show! That could be really cool... flash movies.. sock puppets... etcetera...

lol, I kid, but that would still be fun

but I hope we make it needing 3 or more "out of context" scenes in it per vidder. One isn't enough

making those out of context's was fun. but it was hard, trust me.

Since those are like my signiture vids, if we do an OOC contest that puts a lot of pressure on me. but i don't care. BRING it.

Minor character or unconventional pairing/slash challenge? Just to get these two out in the open...

About the crossover challenge would a character analysis of two or more player qualify? Something like let's see what Spike, Sawyer and Brian have in common beside the fact that they are hot?

Oh come on, you could do more than Gilligan's island. Where are you going to find clips of gilligan's island anyway?

You could do any movie that has scenes in the jungle/forest or beach/ocean. And more for the flashback scenes.

Stuff that would interact with the flashbacks:

Any bank robbery movie, what about that one with Queen Latifah?
Any movie with a car chase in a desert/plain-like area
Any movie where someone points a gun and you don't see who they're pointing it at, (kate's flashback) or any movie where someone gets a gun pointed at them and you don't see who's pointing it (sawyer's flashback.)
Scrubs (HA!), ER, House, Chicago Hope, Kingdom Hospital, General Hospital(that's for illitera)

Stuff that could double as flashbacks:

Party of Five (charlie/jack/matthew's dad in that was an alcoholic! Haha)
Roswell (Claire's dark past reveals that she's really an alien named Tess from New Mexico)
Oz (While michael was in a wheelchair, he spent some time in prison.)
Angel (Not only did Jin work for a Korean crime boss, but he also worked for an evil law firm in Los Angeles, battling ensouled vampires! AND He speaks perfect english!)
Lord of the Rings (Um, nevermind.)
The English Patient (Sayid fondly remembers his long-lost love, Juliette Binoche)

Stuff that could interact with island/jungle/beach scenes:

Blue Crush (ummmmm...)
Baywatch
The Beach (blah)
Bedazzled (there's some beach scene or something, I know it... )
Any movie with a beach scene!
Castaway
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind? (Haha. Bed on the beach?)
Jurassic Park (YES!)
Any movie with a jungle scene!

Stuff that could interact with the plane crash:

Airplane!
The Twilight Zone (the John Lithgow scene)

That's all I can think of for now. But see? The possibilities are far greater than Gilligan's Island!

The commercial for a holiday on Lost Island sounds fun and so do the crossovers.

I agree with KC on the limitless pool of material for the x-overs, but concerning GI - we can probably rip clips of Gilligan's Island from one of the retro channels like TV Land (provided you have a capture device/card in the PC).

The trailer could work. When I first read the suggestion I was thinking the same thing though, Hobbes "Isn't a trailer kinda the same as the intro?"

But you know, it could be a lot different. It could incorporate dialogue, and it wouldn't be neccesary to have all 14 castmembers names in it.

I'm invisioning a lot of powerful dialogue followed by some really kickin' instrumental tracks.
