This whole tutorial really helped me, thanks alot.

But I noticed the Season 2 is totally copyright protected, when S1 and S3 work fine, does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to get around it?

I need some help. Um, I changed the files to mpg, but they won't open in the program I'm using. Why is that? It says that the VOB files can't be imported into Windows Movie Maker, but I'm pretty sure I changed the files to mpg.

I could really need some help, please. (^^

Yes, I have the exact same problem, but I used DVDFab with the season 2 dvds, and it ripped them fine. Google DVDFab, you have to pay for the complete version, but fortunately the rip feature is free.

Also does anyone know why about 30% of the clips ripped with DVD Shrink act funny in Vegas?

Step 6

Find the newly made VIDEO_TS folder and open it up. Look for the file that most closely matches in size the clipsize from DVD Shrink. In this case it is VTS_01_1.VOB as indicated by the red arrow.

Rename that file to something more descriptive or easier for you to identify at a later time when you edit your video. Make sure the extension is changed from VOB to mpg. When you get the warning dialog box explaining that by doing such a change you can make the file unusable, select Yes.

You will notice that the symbol for that file changes (in my case it changed to the Windows media player symbol since I have that set up to recognize mpg's) and if you doubleclick that file you can check to be sure you have the correct scene.

Step 7

Now all you need to do is import this new file into your Video editor of choice and you can use it in your music video!

Success!

Just wondering if anyone could help me Ok so I finally got Vegas to run on my mac after installing windows with boot camp but I can't get DVD Shrink to work Everytime I try to use it, it won't launch. Thought it might have been something to do with the .net framework thing that was giving me trouble when trying to get vegas to work, but apparently not b/c it still wont work after that was fixed. I've tried downloading it from different places incase it was just an iffy download I had, but they're all doing the same. Anyone got any clues?

edit: AHAH! Nevermind, after hours of searching I found the answer, something about 'data execution prevention' and its fixed now. I've probably just let something hack into the computer or something lol but ahh well

I'm having problems ripping anything off of the Season 4 DVDs. It's really frustrating. I've tried three different programs and still can't get the clips I want.

Anyone having better luck?

I think I'm just going to download them...DVD Shrink gives me a C.R.C error(which means bad disc or drive) while other programs give me a copy protection error.

It'll take longer but at least it'll get the job done. Thanks for the reply.
