Does anyone know how to set the default text in Word?
It is currently set with the "theme font" as Calibri. I typically use Times New Roman as my default. Is there a way to change the "theme font" to Times?

I just checked and it says it is Word 2016. I have it installed on both a Windows 7 and a Windows 8.

If you do not have a document open, create a new document that is based on the Normal template. ...
In the Font group, click Fonts.
Select the font, the point size, and any attributes that you want in the Fonts dialog box.
Click Default.
Hopefully this will help.
If not let me know. |

Thank you, Brooke.
I tried that and it seems to be working. I have worked on 2 documents today since doing this and it has started automatically with Times as the default.
This will be a big time saver.

Good I am glad it worked, there seems to be so many tricks for all of the versions so I am glad this one worked for you. |

This has worked and stuck in Word. I've been able to open multiple projects and start with Times as the font.
Do you know if something similar to this would work in Wordpad? It also seems to be default set on Calibri.

Hpoefully this will help for Wordpad
Open a new document, set the default font and size, and save the file as "wordpad.wri". Close wordpad. Right click on the saved file and select Properties. On the general tab check read-only, apply your changes and click OK |
