Hi LVIers,
I haven't been here in a long time and it's been even LONGER since I've posted up a vid, so excuse me if this sounds like an age-old question.
I was wondering how exactly the viewer picks system worked? I know other members of the community vote, but how many must vote for a vid to get a star? I'm asking because my most recently updated vid received a silver star even though it received 4 gold stars (+ 1 comment with no visible star).
Can someone explain? Thanks!
(PS - Thanks for the Council Pick! ) _________________

I just voted and it bumped it up to gold I'm sure there's a more in depth, technical answer, but I think it usually takes 4 votes to form a star, VP and CP. |

It takes 5 votes total, whether by CMs or any other member, for the site to calculate a VP. The rank of each person casting the vote each carries different weight, the higher the rank, the more weight their vote carries (CMs carry the same weight as Expert, in case you're wondering, the only difference is that 3 CMs casting votes for Gold on a vid also generates a Council Pick ).
So sometimes you can get a lot of Silvers and fewer Golds yet the resulting average is a Gold VP (or vice versa). That just means that the ones who voted Gold were higher ranked than those casting the Silvers.
However, I think in this case, there was just a simple voting error and I'll look into that for you. |

It was my voting error and I am really sorry about that. I clicked gold; and it somehow didn't register. I don't know if it was my computer or the site; but instead of registering my 'gold' (which you totally deserve by the way ) It put 'no vote'. I remember being baffled not seeing the gold I voted; did it again; and when it didn't show it I thought it was just not showing images. |

Jemma, Ais, and Brooke, thanks for all your helpful info!
Brooke - it's no problem; I was just wondering what the issue was. _________________
