Excellent summary of Jack's relationship with his father! Beautiful colouring and you also did a fantastic job on the voiceovers! _________________

LOVE this song. I think this was a great summary of Jack's relationship with Jack also. I loved what you did when the song picks up with Jack slamming his hand into the lockers. Loved the beat use. Great vid. |

Wow! Talk about great editing! You chose some really great and interesting clips. I had totally forgotten about a lot of those scenes! I love how you ended with the "I need to bury my father" line. Such a great recap.
I really love the moment when the song picks up and you show Jack in THP slamming against the lockers. Great use of his violent scenes, like with the coffin on the island!
Excellent technique in this vid. |

I am now obsessed with this vid and song.
I have a technical question...how do you get the effect where it looks kind of like a light goes on behind the clip? Kind of flashes along with the beats in the music? I've been trying to do that for months but fail. I'm thinking especially around 1:25-1:30 when the music picks up. I love that effect and it really accents the beats. Any suggestions? Do you insert flashes? Change the coloring?
I'm using Sony Vegas so I'm not sure if you're using something fancier. Thanks!! |

scarlett_106- Thanks! To answer your question, I actually use Final Cut Pro but you should be able to do this effect with Vegas just as well. I just added a brightness filter to each clip and added many cuts in that section. I added a black and white filter to every other clip as well as many speed changes to accent the beat. It's a tedious process but it's worth it in the end. I'm not very good at explaining but I hope that helped. _________________

Thanks! I think I know what you mean...that's kind of what I did in my latest crossover vid (still editing it though). We'll see how it turns out!
I'm not sure what the etiquette is with songs so I'll just ask...I would really like to make a Lost ensemble vid to The Funeral. Would you mind? It would be nothing like your vid (not even if I tried lol) - I just wanted to run it by you since I heard the song from your vid. Let me know! Thanks. |
