What if an upcomming monthly contest is a little different than all the previous ones .What if it has a special rule that makes it exeptionaly fun!
Lets separate in two lines.The Expert Vids and the other ones.
Then make each pairs
The council finds the contest theme.
We ,the others , finds the general idea about the submission's theme .
The submissions that the Expert ones should edit for both vidders under the instructions of his pair.
The awards should become a little different too.
No first second or third place.Every submission should get what it deserves ! So special awards should be invented for this contest.
Awards about cooperation , partenership , best drama pairing .

We've talked about something somewhat like this in the past, doing something that would basically let a more experienced vidder partner with a newer vidder in doing a challenge of some sort. The difference between a monthly contest and a challenge is that the monthly contests are judged by the Council Members, who also pick the theme and other specifications. A challenge, however, can be put forward by anybody.

Generally, you'd make a post about it (usually in the Whatever section of the board) and see if anybody would be interested in participating in something like that. You'd need to come up with rules, a deadline, etc. and if you have people who would like to do it, then you're welcome to run it yourself.

When you have all of the entries in, then you can set up a poll thread to let the members vote, if you'd like. Of course, often a challenge is more about the participation and not about trying to "win" anything, so you don't need to run any sort of voting poll on it at all. You can just make a post with all of the links to the vids that entered just for everybody to enjoy what was created. It's pretty much up to you if you want it to have voting or not.

If you need any help setting something like that up, you can let one of the CMs know and we'll be glad to talk you through it but the main responsibility for running it would be yours.
