Lyrics!
The man from the television crawled into the train.
I wonder who he's gonna stick it in this time.
Everyone was looking for a little entertainment,
So they'll probably pull his hands off when they find out his name.
And then they shut down the power all along the line,
And we got stuck in the tunnel where no lights shine.
They got to touchin' all the girls who were too scared to call out.
Nobody was saying anything at all.
We were waiting for the end of the world,
Waiting for the end of the world,
Waiting for the end of the world.
Dear Lord,
I sincerely hope you're coming,
'Cause you really started something.
Things got back to normal as the train began to roll again.
We got to the station about twenty minutes later.
The legendary hitchhiker says that he knows where it's at.
Now he'd like to go to Spain or somewhere like that,
With his two-tone Bible and his funny cigarettes,
His suntan lotion and his castanets.
He was waiting for the end of the world,
Waiting for the end of the world,
Waiting for the end of the world.
Dear Lord,
I sincerely hope you're coming,
'Cause you really started something.
And then the bride, the groom, the congregation and the priest
All got onto the train when we were three stations east, yeah.
Hiding from a scandal in the national press,
They had been trying to get married since they stole the wedding dress.
You may see them drowning as you stroll along the beach,
But don't throw out the lifeline 'til they're clean out of reach.
Waiting for the end of the world. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

This was awesome, Kate! I really enjoyed your creative beat use/transitions. Some of the beats were a little bit off but it's only a little thing I really liked some of your lyric intepretation too. Great work! Btw, love the font you used at the end! What's it called? |

Huh, Aislynn said all the beats were right on. Glad you liked it, though!
Font at the end is 'Alpaca 54.' The lowercase is the song: music: etc. stuff (ie, without 'paint drips') and the larger text is uppercase (there are no lowercase characters in the font). _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I think this is one of your best vids, of the ones I've seen so far. I think the little slanty window effect that jumped on the beat was really clever and fun. I liked the way you played with transitions with those, too. The clips @ 33 seconds in are kind of dark, though. I liked your lyric interpretation, too, and I think your beat use is pretty good here, too. Gold from me! Great job! |

The hatch-tunnel clips at 33sec are actually brightened--they were even darker in the original shot. I tried brightening them more, but since it was made in Windows Movie Maker, I'd have lost contrast if I had brightened them more, and applying a contrast + brightness to them made them look just like random blobs. Ah well!
Good to know the slanty window worked. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
