It's rather exciting to finally get to see this all done and posted up!

I definitely like all of the new touches that you were able to bring into it with Vegas (not that good vids can't be done with WMM, of course, but Vegas definitely gives you more options like the lens flare, which I thought worked really well instead of you having to resort to strobe lighting or something like that ).

Anyway, some of my favorite sections are Jack as "the sheriff" and Dogen and Lennon as the general and his aide-de-camp, they just worked so well, IMO!

Congrats again on getting this one done! Oh and I think your super-secret plan may be working... I woke up the other morning with this song in my head, lol!

I'll just basically reitterate what I said before: The "glarey" effect was perfect. I lol'd at Hurley as the "village idiot," Jack as the sheriff, and how the beat fit Hurley running over the Other with the van. Overall, good beat use and lyric interp! Thanks for crediting me as one of your betas

(Of course, my dialup went out right after this video was posted!)

Thanks, guys, and thank you both for the betas--and for bearing with me redoing the whole thing in Vegas. Glad it was apparently worth it, and even more glad that my super-secret plan is working! Mwahaha. PS, Aislynn, can I get an apostrophe in the video title itself? (You'll remember my hangup with proper apostrophes. )

ETA: Thanks for the apostrophe, whoever did it!

Lyrics:

Everybody's restless and they've got no place to go
Someone's always trying to tell them something they already know
So their anger and resentment flow

[Chorus]
But don't it make you want to rock and roll all night long?
Mohammed's radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful on the radio
Mohammed's radio

You know, the sheriff's got his problems too
He will surely take them out on you
In walks the village idiot and his face is all aglow
He's been up all night listening to Mohammed's radio

[Chorus]

Everybody's desperate trying to make ends meet
Work all day, still can't pay the price of gasoline and meat
Alas, their lives are incomplete

[Chorus]

You've been up all night listening for his drum
Hoping that the righteous might just, might just, might just come
I heard the general whispering to his aide-de-camp:
"Be watchful for Mohammed's lamp"

[Chorus]

Mohammed's radio

Your vids always have great lyric interpretation. Especially liked the part with Sayid and Jack. Clever scene use there. You had some nice beat use in there too, like Hurley with the van. I would have liked to see more scenes like that with the beat. B/c sometimes you used it and other times you didn't.

I agree with black wolf the glarey effect was awesome! I think this was a great vid for being your first in Vegas.

Hey Nikki! Glad you enjoyed it.

I intentionally limited the beat use to the larger/more obvious beats in the chorus and the pingy cymbal crashes, since I was advised that strong beat use in it/clipping to every beat would kill the bittersweet mood of the song (something with which I agree, anyway.) So that was a deliberate choice, not neglect.

Maybe I should start a thread: 'Kate interprets the lyrics of your songs.' Haha!

I do love this song now Kate, its so addictive Great lyric interp, as has been said, you know you have a knack with lyrics Casting was great as was your scene choice. I agree with nikki about the beat use, I think you could have done soft fade ins/outs on the beat and it wouldn't have taken away from the theme of the song. There are definitely ways to do it without cutting every beat and making it a harsh flash Awesome to see you treading in the Vegas waters, it took me ages to make the change I was so freaked out well done!

Hey, Kat! Thanks for reviewing. Still learning Vegas with regard to fades and beats; I made the decision, per above, to concentrate on the important ones in the chorus, so maybe that quibbled things a bit.

My aim's to get people listening to the music I like, though, so good to know this one was a success! (And if you like this song, check out some of Zevon's other works. His self-titled debut ('Warren Zevon,' obviously) has this song on it; 'Excitable Boy' has the only song most people know from him, 'Werewolves of London.' You know, the one with the "AWOO!" in it.)

That was a great Sayid video, Kate! I liked your lyric interpretation and you had some really cool effects work--the blur on the beats looked really cool. Well done!!!

Thanks, Julia! Glad you liked it. As I mentioned to my betas, Sayid aside, this is one of my favorite songs ever (yes), so it's good to know I didn't screw it up too badly.

I laughed when you had Jack as the Sheriff and Hurley as the village idiot hehe I liked the sparkly bits to the beat probably could have done with a flash or a whiteface transition in there aswell. I also really liked when you had Shannon singing and the lyrics and all the Shayid scenes were really nicely used.

Really liked the motif of the video aswell of people listening to the radio.
