So ok, you all know that widescreen looks better on youtube than anything else ;D
This for Vegas.
1. Press 'new project'.
2. Now, put the size of your episode into the frame size (and also do the same for the rate). Usually, Lost eps are 600+ x 350+, and the frame rate is 23.
3. Put pizel size 1.000
4. Field order - none (progressive scan).

Now you vid whatever you want - and when you're finished, you:
1. Press render as.
2. Choose AVI
3. Choose (default teplate) UNCOMPRESSED in the frame below
4. Press CUSTOM and choose Video
5. Frame size - choose 'user project settings'
6. Frame rate is still 23.
7.Field order - none (progressive scan).
8. Render your project.

You will have to have about 2-4 gb of free space on your hard drive, cos uncompressed files are huge.

Now that you have the uncompressed video file of your video, you install this little thing (it's one of the freeware) Avisynth_257 http://www.mediafire.com/?luqmkmuahxw

Amd open this program: ASG 3.2

You get it here: http://amvnews.ru/index.php?go=Pages&in=view&id=34
in the middle of the page (scroll down a bit).
AMVSimpleGUI 3.2 в ZIP-архиве (~1.8 Мб)

Put your uncompressed video into it, and choose DELUX. Start the programm ;D

I know, this looks scary, but most of the things get saved after you make it for once, so you won't have to redo them all the time. And this way saves you a lot of time for rendering and compressing. Well, and your file is very small (like 2mb for 10 seconds).

Feel free to ask - i know i can't expkain normally LOL.

Thanks so much for writing all of that up, Maria! I linked to it from the Technical Guides thread.

Thanks maria
But what is the need to download the program ASG 3.2?

is that to make the file smaller?
Do you need to use that program in order to complete the video for uploading?

Sorry lol I don't understand all the terminology and am confusing myself!

That's ok ;D ASG is the programm that will compress you uncompressed file - meaning yes, will make it good quolity and small. For example, i just rendered and uploaded a vid - it's 1:44, and it's full of effects. Normally, it would take up from 4 hours to render it to wmv and it would be about 50mb. It took me 9 minutes to render the uncompressed file, and 4 moore minutes to compress the file with ASG. Now, the file is 17mb with the same quolity and the widescreen fitting youtube frame! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAlciQCHAzc
