I decided that this summer would be different in that I wouldn't wait for all the big summer blockbusters to hit DVD bt that I would try and experience as many of them in the theater as I could. So I made a list of some of the big ones that I'd seen previews for and thought were good. Just wondering what other people were looking forward to seeing this summer and if there is anything on this list that you guys would recommend seeing.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith June 10 (seen)
Batman Begins June 15 (seen)
War of the Worlds June 29 (seen)
Fantastic 4 July 8
Wedding Crashers July 15
The Island July 22
Must Love Dogs July 29
Stealth July 29

Wedding Crashers and Must Love Dogs I saw teh previews for today when I went to see War of the Worlds and they both look like good summer romantic comedies. Figured I would throw them on the list just to check them out if I get the time. Stealth just looks like one of those mindless fun summer action movies. Anyone else got any good summer movie recommendations?

Looks like you've already seen the only ones I wanted to see out of the long list. If you like chick-flicks ever, Bewitched was a good one. I normally hate them, but I figured with Will Ferrel you can't go wrong, right? I liked it a lot, anyway. As good as Mr. and Mrs. Smitch at least... maybe lol Cute to the extreme.
I might go see Fantastic 4, the Island, and/or Stealth, but they all look like mindless "B" movies to me. I HATE Vince Vaughn (sp?) for no real reason . HE just bugs me because he ALWAYS plays a mellow background character who gets more witty lines than anyone else, then screws them up..... arggghhhh..... so yeah, not looking forward ot Weddign Crashers! and I've never heard of Must Love Dogs, or else saw it and never made a mental note that it might be good...

Another movie I'm really looking forward to is

Dark Water

I've seen the original Japanese and I love it. Really scary movie.
Jennifer Connelly is in the remake and the trailer looks cool.

I've debated on both of them. I'm not a big Will Farrell fan and Nicole Kidman can be really hit or miss with her movies (mostly miss ). I loved "Finding Neverland" which is a surprise because I'm like the only person that isn't a big Depp or Kate Winslett fan but I'll be damned if they didn't make that movie and deliver incredible performances. I don't know if I want to ruin that image of Johnny Depp. Not to mention I loved the original Charlie and the Chocloate Factory that used to come on TV all the time when I was growing up and I really don't want to ruin that either by watching the remake. The previews leave a bit to be desired too. Still really debating both of these.

As for "Must Love Dogs" it has John Cusac and Diane Lane in it. I loved "Under the Tuscan Sun" that Diane Lane did so I think this just looks like a fun romantic comedy.

And "Wedding Crashers" is an unusual pick for me because I'm not a Vince Vaughn or Owen Wilson fan but the supporting cast seems pretty strong. It has Rachel McAdams from "The Notebook" which has to be one of the best romantic drama movies ever made and Christopher Walken.

For any of you that love to find out about upcoming DVD's and movies you really need to check out www.reel.com . It's a great movies site that kind of helps guide you in what you might want to see in any given week. Definitely a cool site for movie fans to check out.

ok it's a chick flick but I've seen Under the Tuscan Sun alright?
I thought Diane Lane was great in that movie. I don't know bout this Must Love Dogs though.

It's one of those movies you don't really expect to be good then you watch it and it just kind of blows you away. Not to mention Sandra Oh was an unexpected and fun element to the movie. It had a really solid group of actors giving great performances.

I have no interest in horror movies so the first and last on that list are basically not options for me...lol. But I saw the preview for "Chronicles of Narnia" today and it looks freakin awesome. So I'll definitely have to see that one when it hits theaters. I saw the "Flightplan" preview when I went to see "Batman Begins" and it looks really cool. As long as it doesn't fall into the same boring single environment that "Phonebooth" did I think it'll be good.

Another movie that's coming out in the fall is "New World" which I keep seeing previews for and it looks really cool. Colin Farell is really hit or miss in his movies but the previews make it look awesome. I think this is one movie that he will shine in not to mention is has a pretty incredible supporting cast as well.

So many good movies coming out in the near future. I have a feeling I'm going to be spending more time in the theaters. I've found working around DVD's all day makes me want to go to the theaters more. Which is weird because I get free rentals at work so you'd think I would just wait for them to come out on DVD but I guess it's just seeing the same DVD's every day makes it nice to see something new and fresh.
