I don't know about anyone else, but I'm a HUGE fan of misheard lyrics and parodies of songs, it's just a hilarious topic for me. Then again, I'm kind of a dork, so it could be only me.

Anyway, I thought I'd open a thread for people to share their experiences with misheard lyrics.

Have you ever started belting out a song and then someone looked at you and said, "It's 'come on barbie lets so party, not potty!" Ok...that's never happened to me either, but it sooo does sound like that.

Anyway, I've gotten my point across. Just post your story/misheard lyrics with the real ones so we can compare them and laugh. lolz Maybe even post a YT link to the song, and there you have it!

For example: I love the song "Stricken" by Disturbed, but there are sooo many misheard lyrics. It's like impossible to get them right unless you look them up. I swear it really sound like they're saying these fake lines -

My mom is huge for this stuff. Back in the late 80's there was this crazy weird song called "Who found who" by Jellybean

Lyrics:

My mom:

Oh boy sassy do i!!!

When backstreet boys was a big hit back in the day. I thought the song "quit playing games with my heart" was "quit playing games with my arm"

recently i had one which was a bit racier. its the pink floyd song "wish you were here" the lyrics go:
"Did they get you to trade a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage"
I thought it was saying

LOL Steph and Trey! I love those. That Backstreet Boys one amuses me. hehe Misheard lyrics are so much fun. I thought it was just me and a few of my friends. lolz

I thought of another one that makes me giggle every time I listen to the song. It's to Broken ~ Seether/Amy Lee

one time my ex boyfriend was singing the Gwen Stefani song 'Cool' but instead he was singing, "I know we're good"... and he sounded like such a tard... lol.

OMG, in the song '1-2 Step' by Ciara, when the second verse starts this is what she says:

So retarded, top-charted
Ever since the day I started
Strut my stuff and yes I flaunt it

And on 'Flaunt it' it sounds like she says, "Strut my stuff and yes I farted". Lol... Definitely had to look up the lyrics on that one.

OMG, Jourdan! I thought that same exact thing about "1-2 Step" my friend, my sister, and I would always joke about that.

What a great topic, Sassy! I LOVE misheard lyrics, too!

One I kept mishearing was "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven.

It says: "I am imagining a dark lit place"
I heard: "I am imaging a chocolate place"

Clearly, I wanted to go to the chocolate place!

Then there's the one everybody hears wrong, "The Kill" by 30 Seconds To Mars.

It says: "Come break me down, bury me, bury me, I am finished with you"
I heard: "Come break me down, marry me, marry me, I am finished with you"

One weird one is "Plush" by Stone Temple Pilots that I hear on the radio a lot late at night. It totally sounds like there's a line in there about "the dogs begin to smell her" and so I finally decided to look it up because I was now SO curious to know what the line really was. And I found that it's:

"When the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone?" (See, I'm not fooling...

)

That was actually kinda disappointing. I'd been waiting for this big "reveal" for all this time only to find out I was hearing it right the whole time, lol!

It really sounds like that. I was thinking, wait... 'marry me' doesn't exactly fit with the rest of the lyrics, does it? hehe I like the one about the chocolate place.

I'm trying to think of more, but I can't at the moment. Btw, you guys have to listen to Stricken. See if you can hear what I heard, cuz my bro and sis and friend heard the same things. Especially "You don't know what your mama has done to me".
