Chapter Four

O N E H O U R L A T E R

Nate woke up and looked around. He felt very dizzy and gasped in pain as he grabbed at the wound on his head. The bullet lightly but painfully grazed across his head. He blinked as he tried to get some blood out of his eye. For some reason, his eyes felt like they were burnt.

He tried to look around. He realized he was in a bush. "Liz?" He turned and pulled himself out of the bush. He saw Charlie holding a gun to someone's neck. She scooted back into the bush.

Liz and Ana Lucia pulled the chair out of place in the plane. They both pulled out a gun. Ana Lucia looked at Liz. "You ready?"
"Yeah."

They walked out of the plane and both silently walked behind Charlie who had the gun to Ed's neck. "Where is the hatch?"
"We don't know what you're talking about."
"One more chance then I kill him."
"We don't--"
"Say bye to your friend here."

Charlie started to pull the trigger but Ana and Liz both shot him in the leg. The darts in the guns shot into Charlie's legs. He started to faint as his hand turned inward and shot. He shot himself in the shoulder and fell down. Ed pulled himself out from under Charlie's body.

Jack continued to walk through the jungle. He walked past another black tree and didn't notice it. He tripped over something. "Ow!" He turned around and saw Nate on the ground. "Nathan?"
"Yeah."
"What are you doing here?"
"Hanging out."
"How many times have you been shot?"
"Three times if you count the one that grazed my head"
"Who shot you?"
"An other and Charlie."
"Charlie?"
"Yeah, he was infected. You have to find Danielle and ask what the antidote is."
"I can't."
"Why?"
"She's dead."
"What?"
"Shannon killed her."
"Shannon?"
"She thought she killed Sayid."
"Nope."
"It was an other, right?"
"No, it wasn't."

Chapter Five

"What do you mean, it wasn't one of the others?"
"It wasn't."
"Who killed Sayid then?"
"This is gonig to sound. Alright?"
"Fine. Who was it?"
"Eth..." Nate passed out. "Nathan!" Jack grabbed him and started to pull him out of the bush. He got out of the bush and turned and stumbled. He saw the tail of the plane. He blinked and made sure he wasn't hallucinating.

He saw Liz and Ana pulling darts of Charlie's leg. He ran over and checked Charlie's pulse. "What's wrong with him?"
"Look at his eyes," said Liz. Jack pulled up his eyelid and stared at his eye. "Why is his eye black?"
"We think he's been infected."
"Hi, Jack."
"Hi. Wait, Ana Lucia, right?"
"Yeah."
"Good to see you again."
"You too. Bad situation though."
"Yeah. Bt, what do you mean infected."
"For some reason, whenever a guy sees this black tree with red leaves, this happens."
"Why'd you shoot him?"
"He was on a killing spree."
"How may did he kill?"
"Three people. Almost killed Eddie."
"Who shot him in the shoulder?"
"He shot himself when we darted him." Jack looked back at Nathan. He saw him move.

"We've got to get the injured back to the caves."
"Where do we go?"
"I know the way back."

Kate woke up. She was lying next to the hatch. "Do you know how hard it was to get you out of there?" Kate rolled onto her side and saw Hurley and Jin tying the door back to the hatch.

"What are you doing?"
"We're trying to get this door back on so Locke can't get out."
"Are you insane? He has to come out."
"Kate. He was trying to kill you."

Kate rolled back onto her back. Hurley had wrapped a shirt around her stomach wound. She tried to move but fainted from the pain. Jin pointedit out to Hurley. "Yeah, I know. We got to get her back to the caves."

Suddenly, they could hear a pounding on the other side of the hatch door. A knife came out of a crack and tried to slice at Jin. Jin jumped back and he and Hurley both ran to a log. They pushed it and rolled slowly across the hatch and covered the door. They could still hear the pounding under the log as they picked up and started to drag her back to the caves.
