Yep, it's that time of year again
But as I recall it, we had a pretty fun discussion over here last year
Well, anyway, I suppose many of you guys know about this contest.
If you don't, Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is short for "the most entertaining freaks, outfits, performances, "songs",
and dances you can find in Europe".
Not. Seriously, it's just a fun mediocre and spectacular way to keep 200 millions of viewers throughout the world entertained during one week in May each year.
This year, the contest takes place in Belgrade, Serbia.
Here are the (in my opinion) most outstanding participants... the best and the worst. Have fun.
P.S. Ireland rules
Russia - Dima Bilan - "Believeing" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1jTwQo-SXeM
Finland - Teräsbetoni - "Missä miehet ratsastaa" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jtnelEe-Ey0
Sweden - Charlotte Perrelli - "Hero" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fHPitcikvv0
Denmark - Simon Matthew - "All night long" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zeRm3KDKMu4
Ukraine - Ani Lorak - "Shady lady" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vlQ03amvLuo
Turkey - Mor Ve Ötesi - "Deli" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AGH5-mq5QRs
Norway - Maria Haukaas Stroeng - "Hold On Be Strong" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hJzGXPt4mvI
The UK - Andy Abraham - "Even if" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rWnQ_81n3YE
France - Sebastien Tellier - "Divine" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=iXVC06jC9do
Greece - Kalomoira - "Secret Combination" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7YjISnahpVU
Bulgaria - Deep Zone & Balthazar - "DJ, take me away" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gfssZeb-Ejo
Iceland - Euroband - "This is my life" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uAdza0NUBfU
Switzerland - Paolo Meneguzzi - "Era Stupendo" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PMziHTv6OB8
Germany - No Angels - "Disappear" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TYhyKg7lsVI
Malta - Morena - "Vodka" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=k0w-LvCdkQA
*erhmmm*
Spain - Rodolfo - "Baila el chiki chiki" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VHtvgtKb1Hg
Ireland - Dustin the turkey - "Irelande douze pointe" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z28STzFIFBU
Now put your 12 points on what you think will win. The contest takes place May 20th (semi 1), 22nd (semi2) and 24th (finale). _________________

my best real life friend living in Belgrade, so I'm totally happy that contest taking place in my favorite Serbia
I have seen yet only Russian entry (obviously LOL )...and it sucks ...so I'm hoping for someone else to win (I know sounds not very patriotically LOL). I just HATE the fact that we we bringing AGAIN second bloody time Dima Bilan..meh..that was so many other GREAT songs around when Russia was chosing who will represent us this year, and I just never will believe that his won was fair ...lame song, and his english pronounce is TERRIFIC...if someone will watch his entry, especially on word "Impossible", damn, my 11 years old brother can said it without such accent
will watch others entries lately of course , I'm sure other countries have some good songs this year:) _________________

Deja..yeah I remember that Lordi won LOLLLLLLLLLZZZZZ...crazy rock/gothic/whatever their style is group ...that year I was really supporting Bilan, 'cause song "Never let you go" was really nice , plus I was liking his perfomance....but with his song for this year...I dunno, it just VERY medley, made me wanna sleep and I just really don't think that perfomance could be that great with such song..will see though
and Charlie, I have the same thing, in previous years for some Russia winners I was like - "Who can choose smth like That????!" LOL...I know very long time ago (like 10 years or so) we were even sending our 55 years old woman-singer, and her style of singning is still stuck in 70-s _________________

LOL! I remember that, even though it was like 5 years ago she sang SO out of TUNE! here's a reminder, lol

Personally I'm kinda fed up with the fact that my country can't get out of the "schlagersound" for every year, for example Fame or Carola ... always the same, pretty lame pop songs, in the end. I liked our entry last year, but they ended up veeeery bad in the results lists.
About Dima Bilan, I like him! he's hot, lol. No but seriously, his song back in 2006 bcame a big hit and it was way better than this year's actually...

I like it, but it irritates me because it isn't about the music anymore, it's all about politics! _________________

It has! It's hardly about the music anymore, it's who entertains the most and yeah, politics. It's so funny how the countries always vote for their "friends" or w/e |
