Αmazing thread! Actually i study in Athens, Greece... but i'm born and i live in Volos, a small town of 100.000 citizens.
This is Volos at night:
As you can see, it combines mountain with sea. You have many options at every period of the year.
This is the ski center:
And among about 150 beaches, this is my favourite one, at Northeast of the mountain.

That rock at the back, is 30 feet tall. I live diving so much. That's one of the reasons i like that beach. The other reason is that it's non-accessed
by car, and you have to walk 1,2 mile. So it's kinda quiet and isolated. _________________

Holy crap - everyone lives in such beautiful places! I thought I'd jump on this crazy bandwagon and upload some pictures of Wombourne. It's a little country village (actually, that's a lie. We're the second biggest village in the UK) in the West Midlands in the UK. We're not as "out in the sticks" as we look (there's a big town about 4 miles away) but I think we still like to pretend we live in the countryside! I just got these off google. I might take some better ones myself soon.

Northern NY
From a nice summer day in the Harbor of Lake Ontario
To a harsh winter day
I really miss Michigan though....that was the most beautiful place I've lived in. The upper penisula right on Lake Superior

holly crap thats a lot of snow! We don't usually get more then a few inches of snow in New Mexico...but one year we broke a record and got a foot of snow...and the entire city just freaked out and didn't know what to do...it was pretty funny and crazy. _________________

LOL! Yeah, a foot of snow would freak me out too. The thing about the snowfall up here, is that it doesn't come all at once. You'll get 4-5 inches a day, but that's everyday, and with the cold, it won't melt, so it just builds and builds up over the months. We got our first real snowfall right before Halloween. We actually did not have a white Christmas. It poured rain Christmas Eve and the snow was pretty much gone the next day. The past few weeks, we've been getting hammered. There's a snow dune behind the house and it's waist deep. They were calling for a "Noreaster" which is a snow storm that moves in from the atlantic coast, which was looking to hit us directly and drop Feet of snow, but then it turned south, much to my relief.
I've never seen a foot of snow come down in one day, and would never like to see it either. |
