so i'm in anatomy right now and we're dissecting RATS.

I can't stand this. It's grossing me out. And i'm taking charge cause my partner is not being the man that she said she would be!!!

Our rat's name is Rupert... I feel so bad for poor little Rupert... who isn't little at all... He is cute though...

Well anywho, i'm supposed to be checking out if Rupert is for sure a male... so i'll get back to that.

I've been there, Riay. I've had to dissect a fish, a baby shark, some crustaceans, a sheep's brain, a frog, a cow's eye...that biology class was full of fun stuff.

Poor Rupert. That's so weird tho, cuz me and my lab partners used to name our 'dissections' as well.

oh my god no, not the shark!!!! I love sharks haha they're my favorite animals!!! I would be so torn if we had to dissect a shark... i'd want to, but at the same time I would want to protest the killing of them...

It somehow just makes it so much more intimate if you name them... not that you want it to be intimate... just... you know.

And anywho, you can call me Jourdan... if you want, that is.

In my science classes we just listen to how children are made and how genes are formed and how we pretend to put animals together with dominant genes and what the outcome would be and stuff *bored*

Yeah, well it's second semester and this is our first dissection... kind of. We let a chicken bone sit in acid overnight, and then it was all bendy... and then cause i'm a freak I cut it open! It grossed me out, but I have some sort of weird compulsion to look, you know???

Another thing I did (that the anatomy teacher does NOT know about) was I pricked myself and put the blood on a slide and looked at it under the microscope! My little blood cells were moving around! I know that's really weird... but it was really cool too, I swear.

Don't think i'm a freak...

Definitely not a freak, Jourdan. I don't wanna dissect things sometimes, yet I want to at the same time...and then I have the strange urge to continue cutting things into tiny pieces even after we're done. xD I put a piece of my skin under the microscope once too, when we ere supposed to be looking at fish scales or something.

I think I also put some of my spit on the slide when I was supposed to be looking at pond water or something like that.

Cool. I turned 18 last September.

Poor Rupert. *shakes head* I had to dissect a fetal pig and it was fully developed. It was tiny and it's ears were so soft and he was cute...even tho he was dead. We were all sad when we had to dissect him and his sister.

But it was pretty cool anyway...I mean, once we got past how cute he was and how we wished he was alive so he could be our little pet.
