JANUARY 2008
Contest: Season Three Recap
Deadline: March 1st -- extended!

The Details:

Season Three ended with two "big bangs": Charlie's death and the Losties' possible escape from the island. But those weren't the only events that left us breathless. We travelled to "Otherville", we saw the past and the future and once again, we faced life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

With Season Four at hand, it's time for us to bring back our most traditional contest, the Recap Contest. Just like last year and in 2005 it will be your task to recap the highlights of the last season. This includes both character and story development. Your recaps should include every main character from Season Three, at least briefly, and most importantly it should be done in an entertaining and interesting fashion.

Since Youtube has a 10 minute limit (as a matter of fact, most LVI members use YT to publish their vids), we kindly ask you to submit vids that aren't longer than 10 minutes. Vids of 10 or more minutes won't be disqualified, but we strongly recommend a length from about 5 to 10 minutes.
Also, we would love to see a clear, crisp theme and a fairly inclusive plot rather than montages or "medleys". The goal of these videos is to present the season so it would appeal to someone who doesn't know all that much about Lost.

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:

• -Has to coherently tell the story of Season Three with both, character and plot development.
• -Running time should be around 5-10 minutes.
• -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "January 2008 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:

• -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
• -All regular submissions rules apply.
• -Only one entry per vidder.
• -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
• -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
• -Have fun!

hmmm I think I'm going to take a breather on this one...my last video just about killed me...I don't have any energy for this contest...seems like a lot of work. But I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with and then I will send them all the my friend who I've been trying to get to watch Lost for years now...haha!

yeah i'm the same, just wondering (if i do enter this) can we make the videos with a specific theme that's we've seen through the season as long as we manage to include main things that have happened during the season

i have a question, can we use two songs? cos i figure my vid will go from 5-6 mins and the only songs i have that are that long are overused but i have a lot that i could use together, if thats ok

Yep, I'm sure you can.

We had quite a lot of vids with more than one song in the two previous recap contests. I'll check back with the others, but I don't think it should be a problem.
