1) Has what I think is a significantly cooler ad campaign than the USA does. (I don't know; I watch American network TV rarely besides Lost, and only started watching that at a friend's recommendation. However, the few commercials I caught in the States seemed different than here.)
2) Has far less commercial breaks, and so the episodes play a little more tightly. I just watched 'The Man Behind the Curtain' here (last one I'll see, because my flight home is tomorrow night at 8p, and 'Greatest Hits' airs at 9p on AXN.)
Anyone have any cool stuff about how the way the show airs in your country? Is it presented better than it is in the States? Just idly curious, because I've been very pleasantly surprised with watching the show in Argentina and Chile (and with the channel AXN in general - you have to love a channel that shows only action shows, mysteries, and some science fiction.) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. It's advertised terribly over here...Channel Seven, the worst Aussie channel on TV who somehow manage to get a whole bunch of popular American shows, have a reputation for making AU-style adverts for shows. No matter how exciting the actual plot of an episode is, they'll try and make it look like something completely different. Once it looked like Sawyer was gonna kill Jack. And another time they used the footage of Kate's house blowing up to make it look like it was the hatch.
The thing that annoys me the most though is this stupid thing they have on the Aussie website where they give a "secret clue" clip every week for each episode...sometimes it actually is a proper thing like the Dharma symbol on the shark or whatever, but most of the time it's something like a scene that they've misinterpreted or a line that everybody was SUPPOSED to get but that they think is something hardly anybody heard for some reason. You can check it out here.
Wow...I just went on there and there's a poll saying "Is Kate Pregnant?". Where the hell did that come from?!? And for some reason 60% said "Yes"! _________________
It's official - Aislynn is 36. Add a 0 to the end of that and you've got a full circle. |
