Well, someone has to claim it sooner or later
Warren, while you're at it - I'm having troubles going from page to page on LVI, because everytime the "www." disappears from the adress-box (or what it's called), turning into an adress like "http://lostvideo.net/phpBB/posting...yadablabla/" ....doesn't work.
Then, when I add www. to the box it works just fine. And that happens all the time, during posting and stuff...

Also, I believe that post belongs to Heather (Uruviel). More corruption is happening too... lovely. |

Errr... okay, try posting the url of a page that works for you then.
See the thing is, there are two "versions" of LVI out there on the internet right now. The iPowerweb one (the old one), and the Dreamhost one (the new one). The old iPowerweb one - to me - is currently offline and unreachable, with the url www.lostvideo.net. Meanwhile, the dreamhost one, the one I am currently writing this message on, is online and working, even though it doesn't have its proper domain name yet (to me, I am at http://lostvideo.dreamhosters.com right now, instead of www.lostvideo.net) It has nothing to do with the www or anything really, but it's strange.
See, the thing is the old LVI (www.lostvideo.net) is currently metamorphosing into the Dreamhost version, so the dreamhost one's url will be www.lostvideo.net, and the iPowerweb one will be gone for good. But, I think to do that, it needs to basically update all over the internet - which takes a few days. I think while doing this SOME areas of the world might see it before others, so it might work for you but not work for me.
So I'm interested if it's working lol
Basically though, if you want the stable, working LVI. Go to http://lostvideo.dreamhosters.com/phpBB/ and use that one. I'm guessing the data corruption is from the old LVI somehow working with the new LVI... or something. Strange strange strange lol. |

I think, actually, that we'll have the regular URL back in the next day or so . I see flickers fo life from it already!
(I decided, while I was waiting for iPowerweb to respond and do the domain name switching (still haven't), that I would just screw with the settings myself with my best guess and hope that it transferred right lol. Turns out it is! It's kinda off and on, little blips here and there, but it should get stronger. For instance, right now I'm getting the old forums URL (http://lostvideo.net/phpBB/index.php) as an exact copy of the dreamhosts one (http://lostvideo.dreamhosters.com/phpBB/) - which is exactly what I was hoping it would do . I personally am just getting a "Connection Reset" error when I try to get to http://lostvideo.net/index.php, but since you just said it was getting a Connections Error when you went (which means there IS a site there ) then obviously this is different for different people. I'm told this takes a few days to "propagate throughout the internet", so some of us are probably getting it working sooner than others .
If you didn't get any of that, the important thing is... I think it's working!
So we'll just have to be patient for a couple more days... and hopefully it'll work then. Then the whole .dreamhosters.com url won't be needed anymore and we'll have our site back! Just hosted on a brand spanking new server!
(and then I'll have to transfer the "Registration" and stuff.... but uh... I don't think that should affect the rest of you lol) |
