I've had the chance to get through the whole first part of the premiere episode and the commentary is on all of the episodes on Disc 1 so I still have a lot to listen through. What I can tell you is that the commentary is just really cool. Damon, JJ, and Bryan do a great job going through the episode and I'm sure it's just as detailed and amazing for the second part. One thing I learned that I thought was interesting...

(run your mouse over this next area for those that don't want to be spoiled about the commentaries)

They stop the episode (yes literally stop it) and go into a behind the scenes segment of filming the explosion scene on the beach. First off the explosion was really pathetic when it originally blew behind Matt, Jorge, and Emilie when they were all running from the falling wing. Most of the explosion was digital. But what was really interesting was that the idea to drop the engine near Charlie was a last minute decision made on set. So they set up a crane with a buring piece of engine then they raised it up. But the fire burned through the ropes holding it up and it snapped suddenly and fell dangerously close to Dominic. They wrapped for the day at that point so the explosion was shot in two days and they found a way to do it in a much safer way for Dominic. The whole crash on the beach scene was shot over 5 days.

That's the kind of detail that the commentaries go into. If you're not one that usually listens to commentaries I strongly encourage you to listen to these. The deatils are just amazing in terms of details and everything. I'm going to check at work tomorrow to see if we've got the special features disc yet and if we do I'll watch it and let you guys know how it is.

For now though I strongly suggest all of you that get to either buy or rent the DVD's listen to the episodes with the commentaries on.

I had a chance to watch through the entire special features disc last night and I'll give a run down of it later, but I did discover a small hidden special. I'm going to go back and check to see if anything is hiddon on the other discs I have, but if you go to where it says "Disc 7" on the main menu it'll take you to a alternate opening credits to the show. It's about 22 seconds long and very similar to the Alias opening scene and with a very similar beat to that theme. Just thought I'd point that out to all for everyone that gets there set on Tuesday.

No way I'm getting it tomorrow, it's the first day of classes and I know absolutely NOBODY.

Crossing my fingers that I'll find a way into the city over the weekend and can pick it up.

I'm not going to be able to buy the DVD until at least Thursday because I have no money , realistically I probably won't be able to get it for another 2 weeks.

So I need to live vicariously through other people. There is a gag reel, right?

Is it funny? How long is it? Thanks

For some reason I thought the DVDs were coming out NEXT week so I forgot to budget for it in this check

Oh well, I won't have time to watch it until Thursday anyway so it wouldn't matter if I bought it today or not.

Still, I'm getting so jealous of people who have it already! I wanna see!!!
