|
|
Hi, I was just watching some videos and I have found that there is a really popular transition, like a white flash sorta thing?
I've looked practically everywhere and have been through loads of pages on the Movie Maker Forums, but I can't seem to find it anywhere
Can anyone possibly give me the XML in this thread or tell me where to find it.
Thanks! |

Heya Janie! I'm not entirely sure that this is what you're looking for but I did a quick vidlette about WMM's fade in/fade out to white that shows some slightly different looks you can get with mixing them up as well as what you can do if you use a white still picture the same size as your vid footage and just fade it into the clip:

Like I said, that's probably not what you're looking for but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. If you can point out which vids you noticed this effect in, that would also be helpful. |

Yep, it is an effect Fade In from White and Fade Out from White. I see that JateErica's vid was made with Sony Vegas but it can basically be done the same way with WMM (Vegas just lets you customize the flashes more than WMM does).
Basically, what I would personally do would be something like this:
To hold on one shot but have there be flashes in places during that clip (instead of changing clips with every flash), then you can just split the clip where you want the flashes to be, then put the fade out from white on the first clip and fade in from white on the second clip, going down the line. If the cuts are so close together that you really can't see anything BUT the white flashes, then you can try taking off all of the fade outs or fade ins and see how that looks.
If you want something more like a transition (which would change from one clip to another rather than flash during the same scene), you can still use the fade out/fade in to white on the two clips, then drag the second one back over the first (you have to play around with how much you fade them to keep them from "hiding" the flash ). You can also apply any of the other transitions to the clips (like dissolve) and do the same thing, just adjust the length of the transition so you can still see the flash.
Hope that helps a bit! |
