Anyone on here a Dark Tower fan? I love it if you haven't guessed by this thread or my Log on ID. I've also heard Abrams is a huge fan of the series which gets me excited cause if he makes any references to the series in Lost I'll jizz myself.
I think this may be the first book thread. _________________

Now, which was better? DC the book, or DC the film, cause frankly, I don't read much SK stuff, and I found DC the film and Secret Window the film kinda disappointing, Secret Window in particular. _________________ Get Ready to Disappear...

Couldn't say. Saw both movies, but these are the only King books I've read. I only have a vague familiarity with the others through either movies or through this series (cause stuff intertwines, it's GLORIOUS, read them!!). _________________

Let me preface the series with this. Either start with Book 2 (Drawing of the Three) or be sure to get the updated and revised copy of Book 1 (Gunslinger) because the first book is a slight hurdle. At the beginning of book 2 there's a summary of book one. If you end up liking Book 2, then maybe go back and read 1.
LOL. Or, if you feel you can power through it, just start at the start (Do the Bartman!). That's what I did and it was okay, but I didn't get hooked into it until I read book 2. If it wasn't for my friends saying I HAD to read it, I probably would have quit the series after book 1. But believe you me, it's ALL WORTH IT!! BEST EVER!!! King's Masterpiece. _________________

Haven't read DT series yet but loved The Stand and The eyes of the Dragon.
I'll have to look it up. _________________

If you loved those two, you HAVE TO READ the Dark Tower series. Those two books play heavily into the series. _________________

Yeah, I'm definitly like this series. It's funny how you use words like "folken" on some lost-forum threads. As soon as I saw your Screenname I was like "Hmmmm". I'm in the middle of The Dark Tower book and am pretty depressed at the moment. I dont want to spoil any thing but if you've read it I'm sure you know what I mean. I just hope Stephen King makes this thing have a happy ending. I've put too much of my time into the series to be dissapointed at the end |

Yeah, that last book is an emotional rollercoaster. Press on. I won't say anything about the ending, but I felt it was cool. _________________
