Ok, I'm a huge fan of vid making, have made several myself...but I have to tell you that I don't watch some others because they are so dark. Brightness is your friend people! It really kills it for me when I'm watching a video squinting my eyes trying to figure out what clip is playin...just a thought, I'm not tryin to sound rude. |

I have the same problem, only with BRIGHTNESS! When a video is brightened, there really isn't much of a difference in visibility, it just makes it gray instead of black, the way it's SUPPOSED to be >.< All a viewer has to do to be able to see all the videos perfectly well is adjust their screen brightness. The screens, on default, SHOULD be on the brightest/near-brightest settings anyway.
Anyway, my two cents as a judge, the brighten effect thing gets EXTREMELLY annoying throughout.... I'd like to blame the directors for failing to light properly It makes it tough to do. |

I have a prob when I view vids, they are almost always too dark. However, I'm pretty sure it's my monitor or vid card, cause I always put my own vids on a VCD to show my mom on the tv and they look just fine there. Makes it kinda hard to put dark scenes in my vids but I always think they look worse when I brighten them. _________________ Heather |

Since I can't brighten or darken my clips, I'm at the mercy of how they were lit when they were shot!
Warning: Rant about to commence
But that is SOOO one of my pet-peeves, when a TV show gives you scenes so dark it's almost impossible to tell what you're looking at or what's going on! I know, it's "dramatic" and all that. But not if I can't tell what I'm looking at!
AHHHHH!!!
End of rant

again, turning up the contrast on your computer screen INCREDIBLY increass the brightness issue. Just increasing brightness doesn't really, however.... it just makes it look worse after you've crossed a certain point. |
