I've just started using vegas 5 but when in import avi files i'm getting sound but no picture - i've d/l the lastest codec pack but that hasn't helped!
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it????

Everyone with Vegas has had this same prolem Lostzilla gave me this to solve the problem:
http://s13.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=101ZA5032BP5R2XWYRMT15HBGB
What you do is run it, then select the folder icon on it and select the episode you want to convert so it works in Vegas, then it should show what two codecs are used. You then need to change those by writing "DIVX" in both. After that, it should work in Vegas, but you WON'T have sound in those files on it. You can still get audio by takign the clip and putting it in Windows movie maker, then importing THAT file into Vegas lol, but it's a pain in the ass, of course. Good luck with Vegas! |

Vegas is still number one. But I'm personally having a lot of problems with it nowadays (it's even more laggy than WMM!!! >.<) I recommend you have WMM2 as a backup, and if you ever want to do any animation in the scenes (something I now use a LOT lol) then I suggest Jasc Animation Shop Pro and Jasc Jaint Shop Pro (or photoshop, if you have it) but yeah, if Vegas works right for you, then go with it! Meanwhile my damn thing doesn't use all my RAM, which really lags is (I have 1 entire damn GB, yet it only uses about 100MB! ) It may be because I have Vegas 6 (couldn't get the 5...) so it's some option SOMEWHERE in the program that I have yet to find... damn Vegas... |

Vegas is pretty good. Or you could try Adobe Premiere just to find out that hell does in fact, really exist. _________________
