For reasons that are immaterial, I am importing five movies. Well, four; the first one already imported, and is in all the small clips like I need.
I need to be able to import the entire movies of the other four, and I need them to be split into small clips.
I used the same instructions for the first one as I used for the last four, but only the first one split into the small clips.
I used DVD Shrink to reauthor them to the VOB files, renamed them to MPG files, converted them with AllToAVI and then imported them into WMM.
Since I KNOW it is possible to import the entire movie as small clips, "just find the clips you need" is not going to work for me, since for the ONE video, I need about 300 clips. If I can't figure out how to do what I know is possible, I'm just not going to bother making the video at all.
Also, I really would like to stay with this software, rather than load this one and that one and the other one. I've already gone through six different kinds of converting, reauthoring and importing downloads which didn't work before I ended up with these three, and the tutorials I've seen online require even yet more software, and i don't really want to have five thousand versions of different software on my machine, none of which work and none of which anyone can tell me how to use.
I have been trying to convert these clips for a week and I'm frustrated. This is the first video I've ever wanted to make and the sheer impossibility of getting the files onto my machine is making this a very unattractive idea.
The first time, I reauthored the first movie. It split into 5 1GB size files (the last one was smaller), and that took a really long time. Then I converted it with AllToAVI, which took forever. Then I imported into Windows Movie Maker, and it came in as several hundred clips *per 1 GB file*.
Then I repeated the instructions. Four times. And all twenty of those remaining files came in as a single file.
I have even tried deleting them out of WMM and reimporting them, and ensuring the "convert to clips" box is checked. It still came in as one large file.
Can anyone help? |
