What do I have to do so that when a person clicks on the video under 'recent videos' the youtube video is right there, rather than the viewer having to click, 'watch and discuss' and go from there? I'm assuming you would post the embedded link, but where exactly would you post it..? Under 'description'?
Sorry about this! I've only submitted one video before, and just want to make it as easy as possible for people to view the video!!! |

All you have to do is paste the Youtube link into the field "Video URL" on the Submit page. I'm not sure if it works when you put it in the "Alternate URL" field, but it should be working for sure with "Video URL". The video will be embedded automatically.
To be totally sure that it'll work, you should check if the embedding funtion is activated at YT.
Go to the page of the vid you'd like to submit. On the right side you see the whole description area etc. and below that there's a field that says "embed". If you can see the html tags in there, it should work alright over here on our page. If it says "Embedding disabled by request" though, you'll have to change the settings.
That's how you do it (if necessary):
Click on "Edit Your Video" (that's also on the right side of your vid's page below this whole description stuff). The link takes you to a new page and here, you have to click on "sharing options". Make sure that in the field "embedding" the option "Yes, external sites may embed and play this video" is activated.
I hope that helps. Let me know if it didn't work or if you had any further problems. _________________

So I just post the normal youtube link and it'll work, not the embedded one? On the last video I submitted (this is only my second) I just posted the normal youtube link and it didn't embed automatically. And, if I'm supposed to paste the embedded link, it won't let me because it says i'm using special characters.
And I checked and made sure the embedding was functioning on both videos too, just to be safe! |

No, it's just the normal YouTube URL, not the embed link. I see what you're talking about with your first vid, though... It only had a YouTube link so it should have embedded. I edited it just now (*waves* Hello, pardon me for jumping in... ) because I wanted to see if it would work. And it did embedded like it should have.
I really don't know why it didn't work the first time but I've had it do that to me as well, even though I gave it a YouTube link... *sigh* Sorry about that! |

Thanks for editing it! Lol, I just went back and looked at it before coming here, and saw that it was embedded and I was like, "Oh no. I'm an idiot. I swear it wasn't like that before!" But it turns out that you edited it! Thanks! |

I figured I'd better let you know that was me, lol! I can see that your second vid's YouTube link embedded just fine, by the way. It should be on site in just a little while! |
