I don't think he has any specific reason like that to want to go back, judging by the fact he's been trying to get back for ages. Probably just the sheer fact that he wasn't unhappy on the island. Just as Ben said, what was there in his old life that was worth going back for?
Of course then throws up the question over whether jack did in fact have a specific reason to get off the island, or if he's just trying to solve the situation... or should i say.... fix it.....

I dunno, it seems a bit more significant than that to me. Why else would he be begging Kate to go back too otherwise? Seems to me like Jack found out too-late that there really was something special about the island - I'm guessing something that appeals to Jack's need to be a hero and help everyone (like possibly some link to his father, or healing powers that could save the world, or something). Jack doesn't seem like the type to become as messed up as he was there just because he doesn't get to play hero anymore. He's guilty about something. What that is we're just gonna have to wait and see  . |

Losing Charlie was devestating. I agree with everything Cylune and her friend said. I don't give a damn about Jack, Kate or Sawyer anymore. I'm so sick of them. I'm the one who always loves the minor characters. And they COULD have done alot more with Charlie's character. I mean, come on they're writers! They're supposed to be prepared for these things. You can't just kill off a character once you're done with them. What about us viewers who have witnessed their highs and lows and care about them? Just to watch then die? It hurts...it just plain hurts.
His death was kind of predictable given he was told he was gonna die. But I think they must have come up with this 'reverse logic' thing where we think 'Nah, they're not gonna kill him off! It's Charlie! Everyone loves him!' The only people who hate him are the people who believe he tried to 'drown Aaron' which he obviously did not try to do 
I know Charlie. It's true-we all do. We've seen his past and his time on the island. We know where he's from, who his family are, we know alot. And the writers seem to think 'Well, that's it'. But it's not. There are still many things we have no idea about. For example, As mentioned: Like how his mother died. I would have loved to see more of his family life. And I expected that. I WAS looking forward to his episode before I knew they planned to KILL him which actually made me DREAD future episodes.
When I saw his dream in Fire + Water and we saw this troubled family with a seemingly agressive father I was looking forward to that progress. But it didn't. Why not?! I seems they had this idea and chose to just skip over it, us seeing Charlie's father as loving in Greatest Hits when I know I saw a completely different person in his dream. I, for one, am very disappointed. And very, very upset. I cried during Greatest Hits and during his death scene. And I'm not ashamed to admit that because the whole thing was just so awfully traumatic. It's never nice seeing someone DIE, but when it's someone you care about alot. You can argue-he's a fictional character, come on! But fiction is a huge part of me. And I always like to think, there's a reality to this show and maybe something like this is happening. The events are supposed to seem real. And Charlie's death was too real to handle and I just couldn't. It was just so depressing. Yet perfect. Dying a hero. I certainly hope he IS a hero. Though it doesn't look like they're planning a rescue anytime soon.
'Not Penny's Boat' How on Earth did the poor man feel? It all happened so fast, didn't it! The 'mission' he was on: He knew flicking that switch would enable radio contact to 'Penny's boat'. He thought THAT would save Claire. And in his last few minutes of life he realises it's not Penny's boat? How's he supposed to feel? He may have just ENDANGERED all their lives instead of saving them! As Ben claimed anyway.
Moving on from just Charlie....Fate SUCKS doesn't it? I mean, how awful. Saying You're SUPPOSED to die, or you're SUPPOSED to do something. Do you have no choice in this life? How terrible! I mean, innocent people like Charlie-is it their destiny to die? Is there no escape? How can we live like that?
This episode, I dreaded it. The flashforwards-wtf? Jack just can't escape that damn sarah can he?! I didn't care about the flashforwards. They even irritated me somehow. Grrr.

They're all killers by now! Charlie, Hurley even Sun!! What is this show becoming? How many of the original cast is left? I don't even know if I hate this show now! I don't think I do. There was a time I adored this show. But it's lost what it was. The finale itself was a massacre. How many more need to die before they can be rescued? I think it's safe to say I disliked the whole Charlie dying thing. But the finale....there were some good aspects like the Danielle/Alex reunion. That moment has got to be the only moment I smiled and felt happy during that episode. I still feel rather mixed up and angry about the show and season three finale. But it's hard to stop watching now. If I could, I would. But it's become an obsession. Lol. I don't plan to stop vidding anyway. We will have to keep dear old Charlie alive with our vidding! (I plan to in my fanfiction!)
However sad you think I am  I don't think I will worry too much about the long wait to season four. |
