I'm somewhat talking out of my ass here, but I'm pretty sure what Windows Media Player can only be used to watch videos.

I think the only free softward is Movie Maker. I don't know how or where to get or even how to use it.

Windows Media player has no editor so you can't use it to make vids. You CAN use Window's Movie Maker, which apparently comes free with Win XP.

I don't have Win XP so I don't have/use WMM but I'm fairly certain it's free with XP.

If you don't have XP just download some software off Kazaa or Limewire. The program I used when I started out vidding is Power Director Pro, it's pretty easy to learn.

If you have Windows XP, you probably already have Windows Movie Maker.

You can download it here

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx

but Windows XP is required.

The programs that I suggest r Adobe Premeir and Adobe After Effects... hard to understand but great results:P Im still trying to figure out how to work the damn thing lols... Maybe i should start reading tuts...
